Shutters

I like the shutters and have a very similar layout for my bathroom. Is the shutter in the shower waterproof? Where is it from please?

It is a high gloss finish which can be wiped down, it certainly wouldnt penetrate. afraid I dont know who supplied as the client arranged the fitting of the shutters

We love our shutters! We live on a busy street and the shutters give us the privacy we need, and also smarter up our windows. We have wanted shutters for ages, and received a few quotes which were all so different, but too expensive for us. A couple of months ago we came across a company www.shuttershack.co.uk they are the sister company of a already established company. Anyway we ordered ours as DIY shutters which saved us literally ££'s. We have fitted ourselves. But they do offer a fitting service, which still seems a lot cheaper than other companies. Happy days.

I think you'll have to go with white or whatever looks best indoors in those rooms. You can always think about getting the windows colour bonded at some point instead of replacing them. Then you can choose any colour for those inside and out! You can paint UPVC yourself - All of our windows inside are painted the same colour as the walls in those rooms so that the windows blend into the walls. They were dark brown / mahogany ( vile ) - Outside they are all sage green. If you're going to paint the frames inside which will brighten the rooms and let you have whatever colour shutters you like, use Zinsser 1-2-3 primer and then paint away.

I would say they are purely decorative as the ones on the central windows don’t look like they would actually cover the windows (unless they are bifold?). Therefore I would say they are a bit faux (fake) and cheapen the look of the house, however that’s just my opinion and I am in the uk so not familiar with your style of house.

Yes just the windowsill. There’s paint on the windowsill on the inside of the shutter frame but it’s not the end of the world if I can’t get it off. Will masking tape be enough to protect from the steam?
