Bored of grey living room. What next?
Comments (18)Thank you everyone for your great suggestions. I don't have a lot of money I'm afraid so can't really splash out buying everything new. My bedroom is Mauve with light grey accessories which I love but I don't really want to copy that in the living room. I do think a carpet would make the living room warmer as its quite a cold house. But would that mean more grey (for carpet)?! As comfortable as the sofa is, it was probably not my best idea as its limiting choices. I just need to decide on a completely different colour or light grey and light grey curtains. I like the geometric suggestions but maybe in a white/silver or the peacock blue wall. Also I had one of the side walls yellow at one point but got bored of that too. Thanks again for all your help....See MoreOak Floors and grey walls - Living room
Comments (3)Do you have photos of everything youre planning? Oak will add warmth to the room. It also depends on what you add for accessories as different textures/materials, layered lighting, plants, books etc will give a cosy feel. Walnut may make the room feel smaller if there's a lot of contrast with the walls and skirting boards. I've had/have oak and walnut floors and tbh haven't seen a difference in denting? Grey paint may also not work for all the rooms assuming they're a different orientation Etc? Maybe you can add more details and photos...See MoreDark grey kitchen/living room - wall paint colour?
Comments (0)I have a small open plan kitchen/living room that I'm struggling to settle on a paint colour for. The cabinets take up most of the wall space in the kitchen area and are a dark, reflective grey with a minimalist design (similar to: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/d0/4d/69/d04d69bab448e2a5d141e63c1bd8b0f2.jpg) The countertops are a white granite speckled with grey and black. My key colour is orange which I have for some appliances and small things. I've put up a backsplash of simple white tiles that covers the walls about a foot above the countertops. The living room furniture is a mix of dark grey/black fabrics and metal work with mid-tone natural wood (similar to the first on the left here: http://floorsandldn.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Swatch1.jpg). The flooring throughout is in the same tone of wood. I would like to be bold and go with a dark grey (e.g. Ink from Neptune https://www.neptune.com/interior-decor/paint/ink-paint/) on the walls, but I'm having trouble finding a tone that will work with the cabinets, which change so much depend on what light they're reflecting. This is making me think I should instead go for a mid- or light grey, but I don't want to tone it down so much that it loses the impact and ends up not working! I'm keeping the ceiling and skirting boards white and using a lot of light/white cushions and throws to stop it becoming too dark. Any help much appreciated as it's been far too long I've been dithering over this!...See MoreDid you know what colour goes with grey living room?
Comments (0)In the following lines I would like to present you before and after one of our interior projects. And not because the project was created by me, but because I want to understand your opinion about this modern interior phenomenon GRAY. And since in the last 6-7 years grey has been synonymous for high style, I must pay special attention to it. We are witnessing a colourful colour carousel after the announcement of the colour of the year - for 2021 Burnt Orange, and for 2022 Very Peri. But somehow the grey finds a place in the homes of thousands and remains a bestseller. My personal opinion is that this success is strongly influenced by social networks, which impose trends in the interior. What do you think? Don't be impressed, that I don't like grey. I just want to present it differently and break the stereotype - Grey is boring. I would like to present you a project of modern grey and white open plan living room that we designed for our clients. The new owners of this open plan apartment are a young family who bought it from a previous owner. A complete renovation and new interior was forthcoming. They are ambitious, hard-working young people who like to have fun and spend their weekends in a relaxing atmosphere. As young people looking for the modern, grey was their desired colour. Living room with modern furniture, open spaces and white accents. This was their dream home interior. We designed a spacious place to relax, of course with a large super comfortable bespoke sofa in Navy Blue fabric. The kitchen is open plan and extremely stylish with built-in appliances, white shaker kitchen doors and white marble countertops. The dining room is the focal point. The elegant pink legs of the table emphasize the female presence in this modern home. The buttoned dining chairs made of natural leather create cosiness and home feeling....See MoreEm2311
