awkward space in bedroom- help needed
Comments (55)Hi, in that space I would put a nice relaxing framed print and beneath it a shaker style shelf with pegs to hang pretty scarves or hats or bags. I have one in my utility room between two cupboards and it gives a lovely feel to the room as well as being useful. Mirrors are not good feng shui opposite a bed and although shoe storage is great it might be too much between the wardrobes. Pretty colours!...See MoreBedside for renovated bedroom
Comments (6)Hi Annalie, what an amazing spare bedroom! I love the dark polished wood flooring and original fireplace. As for the bedside tables, (I'm aware this may seem a little safe!) but I would recommend keeping them the same colour wood as the bed or the flooring. I would also suggest keeping them a simple minimalistic design so as not to look too mismatched with the other strong features in the bedroom (fireplace, ceiling light). I've found some examples below and they can be found at http://www.myakka.co.uk/product/mallani_small_bedside_cabinet and http://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-flores-square-topped-bedside-table/p1707204?colour=Grey. I hope this helps!...See MoreWhat to do to my bedroom
Comments (15)It is a lovely room but as you have chosen black and white monochrome, you need to get a bold or big/ item in black into the upper part of the room - ie: like a beautiful bold/sculptural black monochrome reading lamp/light for example. And also think about a couple of beautiful grey decorative cushions (monochrome) for the bed. And a beautiful small white sheepskin rug for the black floor, to add the look of more comfort. I would put the mirror above the dressing table instead of above the bed. And find a large interesting black and white art-deco photograph or print to put above the bed. I think a few art-deco style things like the photo/print, a lamp and a sheep skin rug and cushions will look stunning - choose them wisely. And stick to mono-chrome colours which you have already chosen as colour-scheme. That will really bring the room together and make it look fabulous. Good luck and please show us the results afterwards. And one last thing I think a different luxurient headboard to your bed in the art-deco monochrome style is a must....See MoreDesign Dilemma - bedrooms in our bedroom
Comments (3)Good morning, It may be worth measuring the room and uploading a plan, so that Houzz designers can properly assess the room and provide an accurate layout for you. Get some measurements of walls, windows and doors, as well as the ceiling height....See MoreBath Bespoke
