Extra large dining table needed! 1.8x1.5m

Hi
Can anyone recommend anywhere that I can buy or get a wood dining table made to this size? Somewhere that isn't ridiculously priced and has a nice finish to it?

What sort of style do you like?? There are a lot of places that sell large tables.

Also, what budget?

They do sell larger and you can have the legs painted cream or grey for instance. Great prices too, the larger ones are £389

Hi. That's quite an unusual shape, rectangular tables might on average be 3ft or so deep, perhaps 4ft max. Could you not consider a square or longer rectangular table to avoid going bespoke?

Hi. I think it's going to echo until you get some soft furnishings in there. Rug/s, cushions, a throw for the arm of the sofa and curtains (keep them fairly light). A mirror/s will bounce the light as will any reflective accessory, light or piece of furniture. Floor and table lamps will add cosiness, as do plants and books plus different textures for your accessories, When you hang Art, hang it just a few inches above the sofa or dining table so the centre of the art is at eye level, it will connect with the furniture and make it feel cosier. Do add 1/2 pieces of taller things to mix up the scale such as a floor lamp or piece of furniture.

Hi Rosemary, The issue you will find with glass tables is that there is a huge selection of 6 to 8 seaters at a variety of priced but when you move up to 10 place settings the selection reduces and the prices tend to go through the roof. A trick I often use is to but two moderately priced glass tables in the style I like then remove the glass tops (I sometimes recycle them as large coffee tables) Once you have your two bases you set them in the room and cut a piece of MDF or plywood to the maximum size you feel the room could take. Check the bases are stable with this size top then if all is OK send the top to a local glass merchant to cut this in thick glass. A piece of glass big enough to seat ten will have to be between 12 and 20mm laminated glass. (The glass company will advise you) This will be very heavy !!!!......and will cost a fair amount but you end up with a stunning table, the correct size for the room and usually a fraction the cost of a ten seater designer table.. Here is an example of a base I used recently. I bought three of these and had one large piece of thick glass to go on top. The three glass tops left over were used in the lounge and family room as coffee tables (I had some simple MDF boxes made to support them clad in mirror.) It's a nice room. It looks as if you have a few inches to move the table towards the door just to create a small gap between the sofa and table? I don't know whether it just needs zoning. I might add another lower shelf and art over the sofa so it connects a bit more. You could have a mirror over the table to make the room feel wider but I might go for a wall light, there are a number of plug in ones around ATM. I'd also add a vase of stems or an ornament on the table

It's further than I thought. My concern was the stepped in wall and also the opening to the dining area but as it's further up than I thought the ".entrance" should be fine. You would however be left with an alcove between new and old fire. I wonder what shelves would look like there (I couldn't find an exact pic) or just box it in.. Tadelakt is similar to polished concrete, polished plaster, microcement etc, you could look at any of them just to add a bit of texture/warmth. You could always pay someone to do a CAD design in your room if this is your preferred option? Having said that if you frequently have large parties maybe it's not a great idea to have a fixed structure there? Maybe a tv and fire side by side is a better option? Will see if I can find a pic

Check ebay or etsy for furniture makers who can make one to the size you want.

You could try berrydesign.co.uk for large dining tables. They also build to bespoke sizes.
