Hello! Thank you for expressing an interest. The coping and deck are New York bluestone, full color range set in a "random rectangular" pattern.

I begun to write this suggestion out when I released i had a drawing for a similar garden. So tweak it to suit Hide new steps behind new raised bed of rose carpet (or lavender) which are very easy to maintain which can also be used as seating Water feature with the spout can be hidden in the hedge, Use a galvanised mesh (heavy) an inch or so below water, you don't want children falling in. Skim walls to match in with new beds, the brick is a bit dull. Second level plant hydrangea From top of steps enter landing area to raised lawn, use angle iron for perfect straight lines. Low hedges: Use Rosemary rather than Buxus as it can have an unpleasant odour if planted on mass especially near patio areas. I would replace the fence with something sturdier and would allow for trellis which will give privacy but not annoy the neighbors by blocking too much light You could also use the trellis at low hedging to stop children falling off or use http://www.tecni-cable.co.uk/ systems for a safe but see through fence, it wont stop the determined child to climb over but will definitely prevent accidents Rather than having a 'veg patch' you could make sure that everything has to earn its keep. Yes mii2, the deck is built onto the few pavers that form the ramp up from the lower patio to the lawn. Not ideal but they match the pavers of the lower patio (and are concreted in) so we just decided to leave those be and begin the new path from the top of that section. I wanted gravel as I thought it would be easier to manage the upward slope of the lawn from there but Mr doesn't like the idea of it against the pavers of the ramp (potential for slippage and being transferred onto the lawn by little bare feet etc!) The only other solution I thought of was setts or something similar so they could rise with slope of the lawn? Not sure.

Sonia (and all), can I ask for your help pretty please?? I‘ve just bought 2 potted olives to put outside my door. They’re classed as young but the tallest is c8ft and the other c7ft and the trunk is quite thick with big crowns. The pots are 50 x50. I enquired re watering and was told to water at least 3 or 4 times a week During the summer and once in winter. I asked for the volume but was told no fast rule as just had to be kept moist and I can’t overwater (my concern) due to drainage holes (Although the pots aren’t on feet). Problem is how do I know if it’s moist at the bottom and I also thought young olives shouldn’t have waterlogged roots? They‘re also full of olives btw. Any help would be appreciated. I thought I’d try and take advantage of all the gardeners on one post!! I could go back to the company obviously but feel like I’m going back with contradictory advice just from the net and They’re expert growers..

Hi Steve. Your reduced depth base units underneath the island overhang are difficult to access. Depending where you are buying your units from it maybe possible to get extra deep base units, the ones in the photo attached are 705mm deep. You then do not need access from the back. I would also suggest increasing the depth of your sink worktop to a minimum of 650mm. Depending on your choice of wall covering and the thickness of it you will find that most hobs will have a minimum required gap between the back edge and the wall, less than this gap will invalidate the guarantee. The extra deep worktop also makes it much easier to clean behind the sink/tap area and more importantly creates a useful channel behind your base units for the services. If you do this you need to extend the panel to the side of the oven housing to suit. This will also help to make the side by side Fridge Freezer look better, these are often much deeper front to back than the adjacent tall units and can look unsightly if they stick out too far. One more point about your island, if you take the suggestion of the deeper base units you do not need a 1200 deep worktop to ensure a suitable overhang for your stools. You often need to pay a premium to obtain 1200 deep worktop depending upon the material you choose.
