I'm sorry, I'm not sure were the home owner sourced that piece from. I believe is was a custom piece.

Claire, One easy way to avoid the area looking clinical is to add colour to your barstools. You could pick out a colour which is in your funky art pieces. For example I attach an image of three Steve Stools in Terracotta and you will see a painting on the wall, with terracotta featured. The same customer had a blind in Terracotta I don't know the colours in your Funky art, but I hope you can see the idea. Alternatively you can get splash backs in almost any colour, so add a splash back which matches your bar stools- for example:- or Finally you talk of wood being featured in parts of the kitchen. You can get barstools with wood veneer backs in various shades. For example I show the City R Stool with Walnut Veneer back. It is also available with Natural Oak or Grey Ash or Burned (Dark Brown) and the seat can be upholstered in 56 different colours In closing I attach just one of the three sample cards available. We have some bonkers stuff around - cameraless photos of mushrooms by the very talented Susan Derges. Jason Martin's painting on aluminium. The spectators triptych - I've always refused to sleep in that guest bedroom because of the creepy feeling that they would be staring at me all night. Some scary Kabuki prints (they really scare me!! As an interior designer, I believe that almost without exception, successful interiors are enhanced by well-chosen art works, whether they be paintings, prints, decorative pieces, sculpture or photographs. I consider that carefully selected art can add both drama and focus as well as complementing the choice of furniture, materials, fabrics and lighting. Certain notable pieces even have enough authority to inspire and influence the whole design scheme including colour palette options. The choice of each art piece offers an effective way to demonstrate a client’s individuality as well as personalising the interior and adding a vital human touch to particularly minimal schemes. Framing is an art in itself and I am able to give my clients advice about framing specifications as well as how to display individual pieces to give the most striking effect – for instance, hanging them at eye level is essential and some pieces need space to make the right statement. If there are a number of photographs involved, I might suggest using the same frames and displaying them in a group that offers the most graphic and visual interest. Art is integral to interesting and engaging interiors and I like to help client’s display the pieces they already own; sometimes all that’s needed is a different frame or perhaps some fresh ideas. I enjoy introducing his clients to new art and creative concepts that I feels will appeal to them.
