Need help finding large round mirror for my living room!

Hello!

I am trying to find a large round mirror to hang in my living room, but everything I do find is rather expensive (over £500). Was wondering if anyone knew where I can find one cheaper?

Hi. You have some lovely things, but I still think one more piece of furniture needs to go. Do you have room somewhere else for either the wardrobe or the beautiful chest of drawers? I would put the ingenious coffee table/bottom of wardrobe where the chest of drawers is and put the TV on it, use the cute table the TV is sitting on as the coffee table, move the chest of drawers down to where the wardrobe is, and put the plant that is currently on top of the wardrobe in the corner where the TV is. If the TV height is a bit low at the moment, you could use the black console that is now against the wall stairs, instead. I think you'll be able to see everything better then and you'll be able to appreciate it all the more.

Have you thought of rearranging the furniture so the tv isn't the focal point? Furniture against walls can make a room appear smaller. If the budget permits I would add a coffee table to bring furniture into the middle of the room. I would also add a mirror to the dining area to bounce light and maybe install a low hanging pendant light over the table. I would also choose a neutral coloured rug as using a single colour for an item becomes the focal point. Grey is a good modern neutral for walls. If you want to use paper on a smaller wall choose a small pattern that won't date unless you don't mind repapering to keep it up to date. There are some really fantastic papers around at the moment such as chinoiserie, bold contemporary and typography but it depends on your preferred style? Maybe use plain (not patterned as this may date or your taste will change) velvet or silk curtains to soften the room. Use different colours and textures for the accessories to avoid block colours as per comment above. Pattern/interest can also be added in the form of wall art.

Swveng, 20 ft x 8 ft is a difficult space to create one space. If I'm not mistaken, there would have been a wall about where the TV is now sited and a second working fireplace. Is it possible to remove the chimney breast where you no longer use a fire? This may involve removing the stack right up through the house and roof. If it's a possibility, you will gain more space at that end of your lounge and in the room above as well. You may also want to consider dividing the spaces again with a new stud wall. Should you keep the long space open and remove the chimney breast, the TV unit could be moved to that spot. Another 2 seater sofa could be positioned facing into this area at right angles to the brown sofa to create a TV viewing area. The other end of the room with the bay window could have the easy chair in the bay plus a games table with chairs in front of the fireplace. This can be a homework area as well for the family. Once you work out how to use the space and which furniture pieces you want to retain , if any, then you can decide the colour scheme.

Hi. It's hard to tell if this will work as I can't tell the door width but what if you were to build a ŵall to wall bookcase on the desk ŵall incorporating both the tv and radiator? Ignore the design of this one, was just showing a pic of one against a window, You may need to widen the pillar by the dining room entrance slightly. Perhaps ammonite by F&B for the ŵalls with a floor that picks up one of the tones in the table. I'd also paint the coving in the ammonite and a darker shade of grey for the bookcase. Have a 6ft sofa (allowing for side table and lamp) opposite the bookcase (not against the ŵall) with a chair angled in front of the bookcase and perhaps go for an upholstered stool on legs as per your inspiration pic. You could use Romans on the windows, maybe in a vertical stripe and then use geo patterns for the cushions. Re lights I'd add ŵall lights to the bookcase and a flush for the living room, preferably just 7 inches high. You can afford to hang something lower over the dining table. Are you keeping the tall cabinet? I think your current table will look lovely with some upholstered chairs
