SW London, one-bed flat, ground floor side-return advice please!

Morning,
Any help/advice/suggestions would be hugely appreciated.
To avoid moving house to upsize, we're exploring option of putting in a side return on our flat.
Usually this would mean turning the reception room into master bedroom ((and then having an extend kitchen/living space at the back), but has anyone suggestions on how (if at all possible) we could turn the existing kitchen & bathroom (& side return), into a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen with bi fold doors leading to garden? Basically our reception room is our best room and would seem a waste to change it.
Is this possible or am i clutching at straws? Any advice/costings/suggestions would be hugely welcome.
Thank you!
Nick
