Kitchen paint colour help needed!!
Comments (17)Wow, I had to make a cup of tea for this one. Orange and red are your two main colours here (copper, wood, worktops and red items) and yes, green or blue/green is the complementary, but there are a million options and they don't need to be saturated. At the moment the red and green are fighting for attention so the new wall colour needs to be 'quieter'. If you want to show the true beauty of the copper, then I would avoid strong colours and go for something moody. I would paint most of the walls a cool pale neutral and then go for one wall in a punchy edgy colour that complements the red without having a fist fight with it. It could be a cool neutral with Mouses Back (which looks fabulous with red). My favourite edgy colour is Little Greene 'Light Bronze Green" 123 which I have in my kitchen with Skimming Stone - see below (and image 2 with red picture). Does any of that make sense?...See MoreWall paint colour help to lighten dining room!
Comments (11)I would consider what time of day you use it and clarify if you want to lighten it or make it warm. 'Cool' colours such as greens, violets and blues look cold if they are pale so avoid these if you want a cosy feel unless you use dark versions. Warmer colours are recommended for North facing rooms, but it is really down to the other components in the room. No use choosing a warm grey unless it works with the new carpet. The carpet will cost more than the paint so I would select both together....See MorePaint colour help for North facing living room
Comments (6)You shouldn’t need to repost - you can edit it (on a pc webpage) and I’d add it to design dilemma as that’s where I think a lot of people follow We used dusk in the valley by valspar for this room, as with the glow from the lamp/copper on the inside of the light it gives a warm glow from the light as well... depends whether you use it more during the day or in the evening. It’s an east facing room but because of the dormer and being a small window it’s not the brightest...See MoreHall paint colour help!
Comments (4)I painted my hall Pigeon and it is far too dark for my dingy hall. Wish I had gone lighter. I’ve got Cromarty in my living room and it is lovely and I should have used it in the hall too. So I agree with minnie101! Here it is in my room....See Moreoddbailey
