Slim line wardrobe/hangers?
I am trying to plan our new master bedroom. The 'study' will either be a walk in linen cupboard or a tiny dressing room. There is not enough room for full depth wardrobes either side of the window. Does anyone have experience of slimline wardrobes or hangers?
Another option would be to have our wardrobe along the wall opposite the window (with the ensuite door on). But again the room is not huge, so ideally we would have a slimline wardrobe here. It would have access to the en suite through the wardrobe door in this case.
Which option do you think is better? Is there another option I've not thought of?

Comments (55)Hi, in that space I would put a nice relaxing framed print and beneath it a shaker style shelf with pegs to hang pretty scarves or hats or bags. I have one in my utility room between two cupboards and it gives a lovely feel to the room as well as being useful. Comments (4)What about losing the drawers & putting a small wardrobe there. You could get a small wardrobe with a couple of drawers underneath. Is this for a child's bedroom or an adult ? As if so you could get the small wardrobe with 2 rails inside which will fit smaller children's clothes. Or a bed with drawers at the bottom ? 6 years agoWe put 'Slat Wall / Grid wall ' in one of our dressing rooms - then you buy the accessories that you want to go on in. Gives you the option to put a lot of different storage ideas on a wall in various depths.
If you don't want to lose the study then maybe move the door to facilitate putting the bed on the left hand wall and block up the far window to give space for wardrobes.

6 years agoI can't seem to edit my original post, but here is the fireplace position roughly marked. Makes the whole room very awkward to lay out! I like the idea of blocking up the bedroom door and using the top left hand corner. Also allows the landing to still get light from the 'study' window, which was one of my concerns blocking up the study door.

6 years agoI've been playing around with this. If we knock down the wall between the rooms, it would either give us space to replace it with a full size wardrobe opening into the bedroom (then keep the 'study' as a linen cupboard with narrow shelving.

6 years agoOr if we close up the bedroom door, we could possibly create a dressing area in that corner, but it's realistically a bit tight
