Love the splashback

Hi,can you tell me where i can get the same splashback,as my kitchen is being bespoke made at the moment.Same sort of colour doors etc,so need bit colour on walls etc.

Dear Pauline,

I am afraid the splashback is not a product; it was made bespoke for this project by utilizing pressed bamboo which was then laminated into toughened glass.

Have you actually got room between the Aga and the wall to fit a splashback? I don't know if it applies to all Agas but the top needs to be able to come off if the thermostat fails on an oil fired Aga. Pretty sure they tell you to leave room to get it off for other models too, certainly for electric which we're having installed in a new property. And yes the thermostat can fail, that's how we know. We tiled down tightly to our current one and then the thermostat failed after a few years. It was only because my daughter was able to use her slender fingers to feed the cable through that the Aga engineer was able to do the job without dismantling our stone tiles. It was Christmas Eve too...

Hi Laura, thanks for posting. Wow, it looks amazing! Amazing how much difference the floor, splashback and mirror make, it's transformed. Well done. I'm struggling to like a splashback in my new kitchen (even though I chose it) so was looking for inspiration - my partner just doesn't get it and will probably leave me if I even dare to mention changing it :-)

I would replace the dark worktop for a white one, if you need a refreshing look as no light bounces on dark worktops, hence why yours looks so cramped. then you add a white splashback too, subway white tiles are the cheapest of tiles and glossy ones bounce off the light great, which creates a more airy kitchen.. If you go for mirror splashback, unless you have OCD and enjoy cleaning 3 times a day, then forget it. it will always look smudged.

@colourhappy I took your advice and used Little Greene’s Light Bronze Green. And I LOVE it. I went even further and took Little Greene’s suggested palette, toning it with Ashes of Roses in the lounge area and China Clay replacing the stark white on the other walls. The overall effect is fabulous... colourful, dramatic, modern, cosy and yet still allowing enough light into the room. I just need a new blind in the kitchen and I’m finished, Thank you so much for the prompt !
