Which way would you run this floor?

Hi
purchased beautiful large plank white washed engineered wood from Floor Monster. Only question now is which way would you lay it?
across or length ways?
pictures are of the floor and the kitchen it's going in

Comments (41)Ironing. I don't. As others have mentioned, I also take clothes straight out of the tumble dryer and fold nicely. Since I finished with the city job, 10 yrs ago, am now resident in snowy N Yorkshire and run a small cheese making business I am lucky that I no longer have to wear shirts or ultra smart clothes for work, just a polo shirt, jeans and jumper. Actually no longer own an iron. Dusting too. Hate it. Also, my vacuum cleaner is afraid of heights so seldom makes it upstairs. Comments (4)Douglas Fir but the classic not natural and Dinesen with extra long and wide planks and soap & lye, light finish. We're looking into this but it's quite a commitment both in terms of additional cost, fitting and maintenance so currently very torn between this and engineered ash which is substantially cheaper/easier but doesn't quite seem to have the character....See More

6 years agoAlthough not finished at all (temporary worktop and decoration and a couple of shelves/units needed as well as clearing away mess) this is how kitchen looks at the moment. Started with Hague Blue on one wall - worrying about doing the whole room. But it is nighttime so looks darker.
