Mirror backsplash
Love this idea! What type of mirror is this? I really don't like backsplash options that are out there today. I have fairly simple taste (see my attached kitchen pic..sorry if I uploaded incorrectly ) and this mirror idea has inspired me. I saved a 36x30 mirror from one of our bath remodels and wondered if I could use it in the same way? Would I need to take it to a glass shop to have it coated or tinted for it to work? Also, I have a gas range, If that's important. I know there's risk with anything and no guarantees, but, would just like to if this is a practical option for me? Thank you in advance!

We decided to paint the chimney beast in moles breath to coordinate with the dresser on the opposite wall, the vintage mirror backsplash was beautifully made and fitted by Mirrorworks in Shropshire, using toughened glass. The curtains are from the Villa Nova range by Romo. As the kitchen is an overall grey finish with the walls a delicate cream colour, F and B's Pointing, we have used mustard and teal as an accent colour. Comments (21)Saw an article on Apartment Therapy talking about mirrored splashbacks recently. Had some lovely photos featured, I personally preferred the options where the glass is raised up from the hob slightly. Could you maybe get a piece of the upstand cut to fill the gap? Also having it 'framed' by wall either side looks better to me than it spanning the whole space. I've mocked it up to extractor fan level and to ceiling level (I've guesstimated the tile scale but hope it gives you the idea). Comments (25)Hi - bit late to the party - sorry ! But just popping on to say you don’t seem to have any decor end panels anywhere?! You’ll need those on this range as the fascia is longer than the cabinets, so looks odd without them . 4 years agolast modified: 4 years agoWe have our entire kitchen's back splash mirrored. It really does open up the space, but there are so many days I wish we hadn't. It is very tedious to clean. It requires microfiber towels only because even higher end paper towels leave fibers you can see with under cabinet lighting. If you spray anything to wipe the counter, get ready to clean the mirrors too because inevitably you will have over spray. We have been remodeling. I talked the husband into getting the entire interior of our home repainted, refinishing our hardwood floors, and new tile for the kitchen and guest bath... I'll fight the tile battle another day! Haha.
