I think its really important to use a natural candle, scented or non scented, and not overloaded with scent either. The non natural ones are loaded with nasties!! you only have to see how they blacked the container, also not a good idea to use them when having a bath, the steam traps all the smoke under it so really you are breathing it in. Natural is really the clever choice, and they are not as expensive as you think, plus Soya wax burns slower :)

Hi Karl. I'm not convinced a glamorous look will work with the floor. Perhaps slightly vintage? Unless it's the camera angle you seem a bit restricted by the shaving point unless you move it? I'd go for a slim mirror with a shelf as pictured and then art over the loo (m and s had a vintagey mirror). I'd then add a lidded candle and a couple of nice potions on the shelf. If there's room I'd add a white marble soap dispenser and toothbrush on the sink (I think John Lewis do them with a matching toilet brush holder ). I always like hammam towels for something a bit different. How deep is the alcove? Could you take another pic?

Hi Claire, Do the doors actually open inwards into the room? How about considering place the bed in the center of the room facing the doors? You would disguise the back of the bed with a thin console table which have some dressing style storage (jewelry etc) and can hold some tall flowers and candles to set the mood on entering. There's lots of ways you can add the luxury feel you are looking but this would create real impact and make the bed the real feature of the space. If budget allows I would hang lights from the ceiling ad beside lights and layer up on dressing for an even more luxurious feel. I have attached one of my clients bedroom design (single room re-design package) to show you the hanging lighting idea - if this isn't possible then a well placed small chandelier style light would have a great effect on the space.
