Welcome some advice on a 1960/70's bungalow renovation please
Comments (13)I would find a great builder with links with a structural engineer to help you see what might be possible and how much it would cost. When you know that you have sufficient funds to proceed you should then consider the creative side of things. You can explore layouts with a designer, concept planner or architect. The architect may be the most expensive option but you would have their technical expertise. A concept planner sells only design but you can explore many layouts at a lower price point than the architect. A designer can work in the same way as the concept planner but can also help with the finished look and procurement. When selecting which professional to work with you should think about whether you will need a project manager for the build and if you want the design professional to take on that role....See MoreUpdating 70's facade - inspiration needed!
Comments (9)Hi, Take a look at this website: http://www.backtofrontexteriordesign.com/ They have loads of fabulous examples. I'd be happy to mock something up for you, but have a couple of busy days ahead, so not much time left over for having fun with photoshop ;-) Will see what I can do if I have a spare hour or so....See Moreupdating exterior of 70s bungalow. Comments (5)I think your bungalow looks lovely with the painted window frames and the purple and white plants in the front garden. I‘m not sure renewing the guttering would be a priority for me, unless they needed replacing. It all looks pretty good to me but you could perhaps consider painting it the same colour as the window frames. Looking at your garage mock-up I would say this needs some more thought. Imho this could look much better. Admittedly I wouldn’t know how, but I’m sure the clever people here will come up with some nice ideas....See MoreHas anyone got any ideas for updating this 70s house please>
Comments (10)Theres a huge number of little things you could do which wouldn't cost much to retrofit. For example changing the windows would help as they are the eyes of the property, but I'd recommend a muted oak colour not white with maybe the large window above the garage being a nice bow window coming out. You could maybe add a little detail to the end gables in the barge boarding or some natural timber cladding as well as large natural timber posts in the front porch to update it. Its got a good base structure and just needs a little vision and TLC. Let me know if you want and help as I specialize in 3D modeling of exteriors so clients can see and explore their options before they commit....See MoreDig Doug's Designs
