Empty Space
Comments (16)I think a house plant would look great in that corner, the space is large enough for you to fit a relatively decent sized plant that has some height. Alternatively a few rows of floating shelves to display books, candles, and interesting objects would look nice....See MoreCan I remove the built in wardrobe above the stairs?
Comments (6)I think you might need some expert input. Taking out a floor will involve cutting through floor joists so it will depend on which way they are running so as not to compromise other areas of the first floor. I’m not sure the overall look will work either. To my mind, it will accentuate an already narrow space possibly making it seem even narrower although I can appreciate the need for extra light. I’m not a professional & others may well disagree but this looks like it has the potential to be a lot of work for minimal improvement....See MoreIdea what to go on this empty wall of kitchen?
Comments (8)Hello, I would firstly bring that space together and frame your dining area by choosing a single colour, personally I'd carry that blue across the 3 walls, but you could take the taupe on to the blue wall instead. I would then follow Fran's advice but I'd purchase a much wider sideboard (in black) and position it below the pictures... and as she mentioned rotate your dining table so it runs parallel to the sideboard. I'd put a mirror above the sideboard, and put the pictures where you have your sideboard currently. I would also purchase a new pendant light that hangs much lower over the dining table to create atmosphere when dining at the table, e.g. https://uk.homary.com/lditem/modern-gold-glass-globe-led-kitchen-island-light-8light-with-adjustable-cables-38036.html I hope that helps! Comments (16)I would wall mount the screen and hide the wiring in the wall. If that’s not possible, how about having a taller unit? We’ve got so used to assuming a ‘tv unit’ is the only furniture we can mount a tv on we’ve forgotten there are other options. I’ve a wall mounted tv on a false chimney breast and the wires feed behind it to an Ikea Besta cupboard with a glass front to which I added some obscuring film so we don’t have to look at the ugly add-ons like the games console and the Sky box, whereas in my last home I could feed all the wires through the metal stud wall and wall mount everything...See MoreGemma Burton
