Howdens burford stone - help with floor and tiles!
Comments (49)Hi Laurenandjames. I love your kitchen / diner. I am in the process of having an extension and I have Howdens Tewkesbury Stone kitchen and Ice White Quartz worktops ready to be fitted. Is the wallpaper from B&Q? Also what colour paint did you go for on the rest of the walls? I was a bit worried about the stone colour as in some lights it looks brown and not the grey I was after. Thanks in advance....See MoreHowdens Burford Stone kitchen
Comments (10)Hi. I think a white/neutral with a pink undertone might work. You could look at farrow and ball slipper satin or dimity but I'd pick up a few colour charts and then get some testers. Dulux just walnut I think will also work but there won't be much contrast between units and walls...See MoreWonky kitchen: now need to improvise on units
Comments (6)I guess you're aiming to balance the American FF by having a 300 larder unit each side? If not you could swap the 2 x 300 for 1 x 500. To be honest a 300 wide larder unit is narrow. Have you allowed for the swing back on the doors of the FF when opening? They sometimes take extra space because of the way they open. The likes of stores such as Wickes, Howdens and B&Q only produce standard sizes. Independent stores could have offered 250 wide but in my opinion that's far too narrow to be useful. Depending on what doors you've ordered you might be able (or at least a joiner will) be able to take them apart and cut down, for instance shaker style but if it's handless it's not really an option. Who worked out the plan? Howdens?...See MoreFloor colour with grey units. Opinion on design. Urgent help
Comments (16)Unless you particularly like the desaturated look of all greys, my instinct would be to go with a more natural shade of oak for the flooring. https://www.howdens.com/joinery/floors/flooring/vinyl-flooring/quick-step-livyn-single-plank-natural-oak-luxury-vinyl-flooring-2105m-pack-sdh3680 Possibly even this; https://www.howdens.com/joinery/floors/flooring/vinyl-flooring/quick-step-livyn-single-plank-dark-brown-oak-luxury-vinyl-flooring-2105m-pack-sdh3684 for more contrast. The shelves are fine in whitewash, painting them may make the room feel smaller. Its better to let your items on display be the focus, than the shelves themselves. The darker bifold look more modern, and add extra dimension to the space. Depending on where the other window is, and how out of place it may look from the outside, you could replace it to go with the doors, or have the internal frame painted to match....See MoreCarol Unsworth
