Comments (34)I agree with everything that's been said. I am looking for exactly the same sort of finish for a bathroom retrofit - going for a wet room. I did find this fabulous range in 'Champagne Bronze' finish: https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/collections/trinsic-bathroom-collection and- https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/T17T459-CZH2O BUT the (Canadian, I think) company do not deal with UK at all. The Yemen is on the list of countries where they have dealers, but not GB! I did email Delta Faucet but they never replied. You do see this range sometimes on eBay and Amazon. They are a bit pricey though and shipping costs are high, also my plumber cannot figure out if the range is compatible with our pipes/electrics/technicalities etcetc So, wake up UK plumbing companies!...See MoreBathroom cleaning tips - what works for you?
Comments (26)From a radiator expert's viewpoint, the key is ensuring you heat the room adequately and for bathrooms we keep them warmer generally due to lack of clothes! If you call us on 01274 515734 with your room measurements and your towel radiator measurements and we can advise if the towel rail you have currently is suitable. You don't want to buy a new radiator if there is no need! Going for a "dual fuel" radiator is also a good suggestion as these come with a summer heating element for use when the central heating is turned off. We offer these on all our ladder style towel radiators. Keeping the bathroom warm will help with condensation but it can't eliminate it. The steam condenses on a cold surface, so good insulation and keeping the water level to a minimum is very important. So add cavity wall, double glazing, if possible and encourage the steam to escape with open windows and good extractor fans. However from personal experience, this is often still not enough and a squigee and an old towel for drying those prone areas before the mould develops is your best bet. Although it is a pain to dry the shower after use, it is much easier than trying to remove mould later on. Good luck! I can sympathise! Regards A rubbish housekeeper :)...See MoreBlack Brassware
Comments (13)In a domestic setting, it would be extremely unusual for the taps, shower heads, etc., that are properly powder coated, to be damaged. With regards to "hard" water, the limescale would be visible, but there again this is also the case with any other finish of fittings. In my opinion the problems of limescale are not addressed properly during house builds or renovations as it is often considered to be a luxury that is not really necessary. I disagree with this and strongly believe that a filtration system should be installed to dramatically reduce the effects of limescale. The costs are not great these days for such a system, and neither are the filters, which are easy for the average homeowner to replace themselves. The effects of these filtration systems are a longer life for your heating system, your plumbing system, your panware and of course your kettle, etc....See MoreBlack bathroom taps- do they show all the dirt??
Comments (8)I have been asking myself the same question. Unfortunately I don’t know the answer to it but my thoughts are the same as your husband. Water marks always show on a dark surface and limescale is light coloured....See More
