Help! Need a front door colour for our new build home!
Comments (5)You could do a red that blends with the brick, lick this: If your house is attached, try to maintain a mass look with your neighbor. Don't change trim or other details. Keep it consistant. If your neighbor likes the front door color then they could do it, too. Think of having one house where one door is one color and the other is another, the trim is one color in one section and another in the second section. I'm sure you get what I mean. But I think even if the neighbor wants to stay white, that would be OK. Another favorite on Houzz for front doors is blue. How about a dark blue like this: The right yellow would work: Or Black: Some colorful planters by the entry would also make you stand out - in a good way. Good luck!...See MoreNew build flooring?
Comments (6)Hi, just saw your post and wanted to help. Can I ask what period your property is and are you having underfloor heating presuming not? Personally avoid anything non hard wearing as with big dog you will just get scratches and flooring will wear quickly. Personally I would definitely look at porcelain (matt and texture not glossy ever) (more hardwearing than ceramic less likely to crack in long term and a fantastic selection around nowadays to hit the spot with any new kitchen design. Living room I would however consider a different floor, for more warmth in that room above all and nice to have the separation personally the old reclaimed wood/oak or engineered wood floors looks gorgeous nowadays and wear beautifully over time. Be sure to choose something with real character and irregularity as it will really withstand the test of time and bring a huge amount of character to a house neither too rural or contemporary. You're going to have to measure carefully. Decide upon which window dressings you want, because if you're going to put up curtains you need to allow for the curtain pole to overhang the window and this needs room. Therefore, it eats in to the space for the dressing room. Alternatively, as I'm not sure that putting up a wall and a door will afford you the best use of space. You may consider the newer trendy option of a wall divider between wardrobes and bedroom. By negating the need for a door, you can bring the wall forward level with the end of the curtains, squeeze in two more smaller wardrobes adjacent to the window and the wall opposite and have a 'u'-shaped wardrobe arrangement.
