Blind advice for bedroom bay window?
Comments (24)Realised I never updated this thread! After a great deal of indecision I was inspired by an instagram post I saw where someone had used a white aluminium curtain track which you could bend to fit to the bay. It's fairly invisible against the white window frames and has a small, shallow profile so it fit neatly into the gap available. I then used the same ikea ingert curtains as elsewhere in the house along with ikea black out liners (which FYI are more 'light reduction' than true 'blackout' :S). Only downside is that when the curtains are fully open they block a little bit of the windows to the sides but honestly I'm just happy to have something up now! It definitely makes the bedroom feel more finished and cosy too :)....See MoreAdvice please window treatments curtain and blinds
Comments (0)I plan to update my current curtains which is 21 years old (see pictures). I intend to replace the curtains of the small windows next to the fire place with Roman blinds and to replace the curtain before the French door too. The dilemma are: 1. Recess or outside window Roman blinds? 2. Do I need to increase the drop of the new wave heading curtain (on metropole) right up near the ceiling? Would it look better? Many thanks....See MoreHelp with curtains/blinds for a difficult, dorma style bedroom window
Comments (2)Hi Lisa, I completely understand your dilemma, I'm moving house soon and have exactly the same type of window as you. My suggestion would be to have a Voile roller blind, as I know that you said you don't like Voile curtains. This would be a great way of keeping your privacy in the room, whilst still allowing plenty of light into your room. I'd then pair this with Dorma Window Curtain Poles (the would be to the side of the recess rather than within). I've attached images of both of my suggestions below. This may be one of the better options if you're looking at trying not to lose too much light from your room. I hope my suggestions help, let me know! Comments (6)It will also depend on your budget as well, as curtains can be quite expensive, especially if they are custom made. I personally like the simplicity of blinds - even a simple voile blind could look clean and elegant....See MoreHelen C
