Help with splash back, extractor fan and cooker advice..
Comments (3)Hi. More photos of the whole space would really help people to give proper suggestions, so give us some when you can. You have white, cream, grey, brown and black, from what you've told us and this pic. The grey could be the only jarring colour, but we need to see more. Well, at least I do before I suggest the backsplash tile colour and style and size! You can have stoves re-enamelled, but it could look great as is. Cleaning? Oven cleaner, elbow grease, washing up liquid, proper scourers - for the inside, that is. An extractor fan on a traditional stove with a sideways flue is going to be tough. Normally, you'd put this in a chimney breast or what looks like one. Anyway, post more pictures (and reassure us that you are going to move those sockets) and then I'm sure you'll get lots of great ideas coming your way....See MoreKitchen Splash back ideas
Comments (19)Hi. The kitchen looks great, where did the fridge end up going?! I like the tiles, they will go with the units and the prism shape mirrors the table. I also like the idea of adding a different texture however I don't think the different shades of white work together (on my screen anyway!) so would look for a different shade of white . How big is the veining as choosing a different scale for the prism tile would work? You could also consider a grey grout. I'm not sure my pictures help but just showing a tile laid in a pattern with a veined worktop and sandwiching a black worktop with white units and tiles. I love the angel and boho bench, I've posted that so many times on here! These chairs aren't a wishbone and no longer available (!) but maybe a wishbone could work or something similar in shape? I might also paint the utility door in the wall colour to help it blend in?...See MoreNeed help deciding on kitchen splash back
Comments (3)Mirror splashbacks can make a small space look really cool between wall units and base units. Apart from the standard mirror silver you can get antiqued (is your kitchen style dictates this) or coloured glass such as copper/bronze. If you are not that keen at looking at yourself then a smoked grey is a great option for modern contemporary kitchens. Mirror splashbacks can be cut around sockets for that perfect look. Ensure behind your hob that you have toughend glass otherwise it could shatter with the heat from the hob. A simple upstand in the same material as your worktop say 75mm high is simple then use a washable paint for above for a simple look. Hope that helps...See MoreHelp! Kitchen splash back advice needed
Comments (3)I have to confess it’s a nuisance when manufacturers produce worktops in one size and then upstands and splashbacks in another. If you are having the splashback all the way along the wall which will also go behind the hob you could have something different behind the hob which would give you the additional length you require. Usual hobs are 600 although some are 900mm. Perhaps have a contrast behind the hob? Premier Range have a webiste with some lovely options on. Bearing in mind you have chosen a neutral light grey you could successfully have anything with a hint of colour....See More- 8 years ago
