Help with splash back, extractor fan and cooker advice..
Comments (3)Hi. More photos of the whole space would really help people to give proper suggestions, so give us some when you can. You have white, cream, grey, brown and black, from what you've told us and this pic. The grey could be the only jarring colour, but we need to see more. Well, at least I do before I suggest the backsplash tile colour and style and size! You can have stoves re-enamelled, but it could look great as is. Cleaning? Oven cleaner, elbow grease, washing up liquid, proper scourers - for the inside, that is. An extractor fan on a traditional stove with a sideways flue is going to be tough. Normally, you'd put this in a chimney breast or what looks like one. Anyway, post more pictures (and reassure us that you are going to move those sockets) and then I'm sure you'll get lots of great ideas coming your way....See MoreKitchen cooker splash back or tile all around?
Comments (14)We vote tiles! If it was my kitchen (and mostly because I'm a messy cook) I would be inclined to tile (or glass backsplash) anywhere that might need to be wiped down-e.g. behind cooker, along any counters where I might be doing any food prep. This gives you plenty of options-you could tile behind cooker and counters in metro/subway tiles, but be careful as it could look busy with the granite and wood grain of kitchen-it will depend on the grout. Alternatively, you could use big clean glossy tiles like this marble look above....See MoreKitchen antique mirror splash back help
Comments (21)Saw an article on Apartment Therapy talking about mirrored splashbacks recently. Had some lovely photos featured, I personally preferred the options where the glass is raised up from the hob slightly. Could you maybe get a piece of the upstand cut to fill the gap? Also having it 'framed' by wall either side looks better to me than it spanning the whole space. I've mocked it up to extractor fan level and to ceiling level (I've guesstimated the tile scale but hope it gives you the idea). Personally I prefer the latter in this space as the proportions look better. http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/mirror-backsplash-ideas-that-arent-from-the-70s-or-80s-248551...See Morehelp with splash back
Comments (48)Your kitchen renovation is simply beautiful! I wanted to suggest if you would be interested in considering our splashbacks as an option to complete the look of your interior. Please take a look at our website: www.alusplash.co.uk Also, on our Houzz page, you will see a recent project with Benchmarx in the UK, where they have a white kitchen and an accent of our Olive green which just lifts the whole space. You could choose to go for a darker shade to add an element of luxury to compliment your gorgeous lights and stools - perhaps Blueberry! We would be happy to send you samples, should you like to consider our splashback panels....See MoreC D
