Paint interior 1930 doors?
Comments (18)I have very similar doors in my 1934 house. Upstairs they are all painted white, but downstairs I had the sitting room one dipped, then varnished it. By the way, the colour was much the same before varnishing. I keep dithering whether to paint my sitting room one or not, so it remains au natural for now. Decisions, decisions!...See MoreOak Floors and grey walls - Living room
Comments (3)Do you have photos of everything youre planning? Oak will add warmth to the room. It also depends on what you add for accessories as different textures/materials, layered lighting, plants, books etc will give a cosy feel. Walnut may make the room feel smaller if there's a lot of contrast with the walls and skirting boards. I've had/have oak and walnut floors and tbh haven't seen a difference in denting? Grey paint may also not work for all the rooms assuming they're a different orientation Etc? Maybe you can add more details and photos...See MoreDark window frames with Oak doors?
Comments (3)I would paint the skirting boards in pointing to make the ceilings look higher (perhaps the coving too). Why not use a complimentary paint for the doors, maybe something Oxford stone (will appear a bit lighter on wood). I actually quite like the conservatory but you could pick another colour for the stairs? I would just say if you’ve done the whole house in pointing make sure you’re 100% happy as it’s a lot easier to change walls than wood!...See MoreApplying oak veneer sheet to a door
