Bathroom - separate shower and bath?
Comments (18)Hi, I'd definitely keep your feature bath. This can be painted in a nice Fired Earth Eggshell finish. I can't comment on your basin or wc, as I can't see them and have no idea what condition they are in? I'd tile the floor, shower areas and window reveals. I'd suggest upstands (skirting tiles) around the rest of the bathroom, then you can add some nice colour to your bathroom your painted bath will be a lovely feature. Have a look at some of my photosets which may give you some inspiration. Having said all this, I think your budget is unrealistic. The most important component in your new bathroom is the person who undertakes the work and this will cost you money. Good luck with your project. Comments (43)Dear Everyone, Thank you so much for your help and support! I took on my architect who was quite emotional about it all- he loved the bathroom and thought I was *mad* to want to change it. However, I did and the builder helped us find some tiles. I am thrilled with the result. I kept some of the tiles in our bedroom shower, and love them in moderation. Here are some photos. Very best wishes to all...See MoreShould we lose a bedroom for upstairs bathroom?
Comments (27)Fair enough! If you're getting on a loft conversion further down the line, it'd be wiser to just convert the smallest bedroom as @rinked suggested. I can't advise on cost as the bathroom was put in by the previous owners 5 years ago, who likely benefited from the fact the soil stack is on the side of the house rather than the back. We don't really have the roof height for us to consider a loft conversion, most people in my area with end-terrace/semi detached properties opt for double storey extensions to add an extra bedroom or make a upper bedroom bigger....See MoreWhat order should these renovation works happen in?
Comments (1)Hi! How are your renovations going? First thing I would recommend you do is get an asbestos survey carried out. Those textured ceilings may contain asbestos so you would want to know if they do as that will affect everything - rerouting electrics and plumbing, decision to remove or cover over, etc... The last thing you want is to be disturbing asbestos and putting yourself and anybody doing work to your home at risk. I'm happy to help advise you further with my one hour consulting call. We can cover 3-5 main questions and I have a wealth of knowledge as a chartered architect and eco home refurbishment specialist with over 20 years experience. This one hour call is only £97.
