This brilliant transformation was sent in to us by our accredited supplier Aspect Windows.

This example highlights what a difference updating your front door and windows can make.

The front door is our popular CE 01 panel in one of our most sought after colour options; 7016m Anthracite Grey, with a fixed window to the left side to allow for more light. The casement windows are in the same colour to complement the door.

Overall, we think that this property now looks modern, smart and the new products add a great deal of curb appeal to the property.

Dear Buggypie, thank you for all the kind words :-). Originally the work was planned to take 5 months but once we stripped out we found a few issues with the current foundation and structure, therefore we added a few more weeks to the contract. The property is located in the Hampstead conservation area and planning application was required. Over all, creating a green roof is a straightforward procedure and not costly at all. It lowers the impact on neighbouring properties from above, reduces the surface rainfall run-off, improves sound insulation, reduces heat loss & increases the life of waterproofing membranes lying at the base of the roof. It will also provide an important microclimate for insects & bird life and contributes to the conservation area in general. However, the most important reason we suggested it is so that the client could look at a garden from the master bedroom rather than a black pondy roof. It looks like a complete reroofing and repointing. In the before pic, the tiles are in a pretty dodgy state, and the pointing is all over the place -- it even looks like there's some modern cement mortar in there causing damp. Good for another century now, and a lovely job mixing the tiles so that the replacements don't stand out.

@vv0123 thank you! I restored the windows back to how they would have been originally. The original transom (I think it is called) would have been stone but my dad made mine from timber and I painted it. A couple of houses on my street still have the original feature so I was able to make sure mine looked correct. The two windows were then fitted either side. The windows are plastic but I went for the half/half openers, again to make them look more like original sash windows, plus some of the windows are over 6ft high so it makes them easier to open. The windows came from a local window company in Manchester my dad occasionally fits for. Hope that answers all your questions :)
