Something is not right in my new kitchen
Comments (87)Hi Laura, thanks for posting. Wow, it looks amazing! Amazing how much difference the floor, splashback and mirror make, it's transformed. Well done. I'm struggling to like a splashback in my new kitchen (even though I chose it) so was looking for inspiration - my partner just doesn't get it and will probably leave me if I even dare to mention changing it :-)...See MoreHow can I neutralize warm white cabinets?
Comments (20)Nice! I like Groningen, have some great friends from there. I bought my kitchen from keuken kampioen. So I don't give it a bad name. . . since my original post, customer service has really gone out of their way to see if there is something they could do. The cabinet shape I chose is in the example on the front page. Of course mine are magnolia and not white. You can see what the magnolia color looks like by typing in magnolia in the search bar to see other kitchens displayed in that color, though in a different shape than I chose. https://www.keukenkampioen.nl/keukencollecties/keuken/steinhaus-riesling/...See Moremix/match countertops with Moroccan floor tiles + ques re cooker hobs
Comments (4)Hi, here are a couple of mixed countertops examples. I like your floor. See if you can take the cabinets all the way up to the ceiling. Looks better, gives more storage space (even if you can only reach it using a stepladder). The floor doesn't limit you on the cabinet colours. See if you can take door samples home and hold them on the floor (vertically, so it shows the colour as it would be when installed). Do the same with countertop samples. Put them all together and make your choice. Or post photos and ask opinions here, if you can't make a choice at all :-) A light countertop will reflect more light, make the kitchen seem brighter. You can mix that with a dark wood. I will see if I can find one of the pro houzzers to look at your dilemma, so they can give you answers to the more technical questions. No promises, but I'll try :-)...See MoreKitchen update advice and suggestions
Comments (35)Just had some fun with the ikea planner. In the Netherlands this AXTAD kitchen will cost €2800 without appliances, without worktop (top, sink, tap) and without lights, but with corner plateaus. Same layout as you currently have, but renewed. Not knowing yet what your window size and spacing is, it's just an idea. Moved the block wall, maybe not needed, but in this layout it gave me some space for a 60cm 'wide' dining table. I'd suggest getting plenty of quotes and save some more. At work we sell Rotpunkt, good price-quality. At home I have an ikea kitchen, because.. well.. budget. Can't compare it's quality with Rotpunkt, but it will do for the next few years and doors are quite cheap to replace. Would recommend getting a custom fitted worktop, because a stone/quartz will add instant class to any kitchen. (though laminate is fine and much cheaper)...See MoreMichelle Turan
