Beautiful theater!

Lovely theater -- Just a couple questions. The back corners of the theater come in, is that due to limits in the area or is that for bass trap purposes? Also, on the sides, the cut out boxes... is that for cosmetic appearance or is there something functional about them? Thank you for your time.

Hi there, thanks for your comment and compliments. The rear corners are column details for aesthetics, they were not bass traps.

Thanks Clinton! Are the cut out boxes (between the columns) on the side walls also for aesthetics or do they serve a functional purpose as well?

FAB window. How about a hinged rod, or a room width rail. The 1st will open and sit against a wall, to be closed when needed, or one at each side. The curtains would be floor to ceiling and look gorgeous whether open or shut. A room width rail at ceiling height could sit the curtain to the left of the window when open, perhaps with a luxurious tie back and the curtain, when pulled over, would cover the entire wall as before. Morning Jacky, I am a keen gardener with an RHS course behind me and I was taught that looking for trees with 3 seasons of interest for a garden is always a good idea ie blossom in spring, pretty foliage in summer and autumn fruit. Something like Amelanchier lamarckii which gets to 10m high and 12m wide has pretty dainty blossom in spring delicate bronze foliage in summer and red orange leaves in autumn. The birds also love the purple black fruits which follow. Or a Malus 'John Downie' or Malus Floribunda both vigorous crab apple trees with a long season of interest. I would probably not go for the Tuscan pillar conifers because they will act as pointers drawing your eye to the houses you are trying to screen. Birch (Betula Utilis var Jacquemontii are beautiful however they will reach 15m or possibly consider weeping birch Betula Pendula "Youngii' which makes a dome shape and gets to 8m high and 10m wide. Perhaps have a look at the RHS website which is very helpful.

Absolutely, I could definitely leave the sink unit alone. Are you suggesting the walls could be violet? And re buying things, I know. I get all excited and buy beautiful, dirt cheap things on a whim. I currently have two farmhouse kitchen tables ( which were both from freecycle), a red melamine-topped 60s one (£20) and am haggling over an ercol one ( super expensive at £48). I will have to start releasing them back into the wild soon. The cameos were £6 for the pair and they are adorable.
