Comments (5)This isn't a poll, it's a design dilemma. Could you give us more information and be more specific about your questions? For example, do you have existing furniture to go into the living room? Do you need to be careful with your budget (e.g. you could gut and recreate the kitchen, or decide to work around the existing cabinets, stove, washing machine). I'm assuming that you haven't yet moved in? I have all sorts of possibilities wandering vaguely around in my head but they don't have much to hook into, even though I've browsed some of your idea book pics. I think you might like a floor-to-ceiling bookcase to the left of the fireplace? I could see the living room having two sitting areas, and that a big sofa against the window could make a great place for reading the books in it. I also think you might like to paint the room in a light neutral, perhaps an ivory colour. What's under the carpet, which I suspect isn't to your taste? Lots to talk about, but give us more clues, please....See MoreTo go 50s or not to go 50s
Comments (34)Hi, if this is a investment property (not your forever home) then whatever you do has to be an enhancement of the property to maximise your return, most property's are sold by the kitchen & bathroom !!! ( excluding location) If you take out the suite and try to sell it I think you would be surprised by how little value is left on it, now picture this left in the house when selling........ you are cutting your prospective buyers down as the que up for the ready to walk into house next door with the new bathroom/.kitchen ect Anyway if you look back at your own ideas pics I think you have made your own mind up as all your ideas are clean straight, white & bright !!...See MoreNeed help with window design, have just 24 hours to decide
Comments (6)Thank you very much Rebecca, Jonathan, AS and Bath Bespoke for your comments, v kind of you. I have attached a picture with the window design I am now actively considering for the non bay windows. I thought this may be a good option since it will maximise the views from the inside. I don't know what the name of this type of window is but it is a solid pane with two fanlights above. Do you think this could be a solution? I am hoping it will blend in with the bays? As for the rendering, I am still undecided whether this will look ok with this style of chalet bungalow, at times I think the brickwork looks good and other times I wonder if it is dated! I think I may have to play it safe with white windows........See MoreFront Door Dilemma
Comments (35)Re: the door. We're leaning towards dark, probably anthracite. I'll post a picture if and when we get around to changing it! Re: roof. I'm not a massive fan of painted roofs. There are quite a few bungalows nearby us that have had their roofs treated and to me there's something about them that looks odd. I'd rather save my pennies and replace it. Re: garden. Ha, ha! Fortunately we're perfectly happy with our garden........See MoreCharlotte Byng
