I am so a wood gal, but this combo is fresh. Please provide me cabinet info. Thanks

The cabinets are birch veneer boxes with conversion varnish finish on flat panel doors. The wood is rift sawn white oak veneer plywood.

Hi Irene, When you are starting out a renovation of a kitchen it can be a bit daunting. Colours, wood effects, gloss finish, mat finish, worktops and many more options. Hey OnePlan! Have you seen this?! http://www.smeg.com/press-release/washing-machine-with-sink/ anyway I fell in love with that for the babies bathroom but I can't get it in the UK Smeg tell me. Anyway, I haven't got the washing machine for my bathroom yet, an integrated washing machine into kitchen units is as far as I got... But they are all so kitcheny! I've seen a sink unit on a curved stand at Neptune but I don't see how this will work. Unless I put the washing machine in a cupboard. Katie x

How wide is the kitchen and what type of hob are you having? Depending on hob type and the distance of the rings you could continue the laminate as the splashback. Formica would appear to do a glossy finish, this is calacatta which I can't actually see on the website now but they do a Carrera version. I've just seen your other post and if you want something classic then you can't go wrong with a wood/wood effect floor. I'd also go for an aged brass tap and maybe see if you can find some flush/semi-flush pendants with a touch of brass. I do agree with OnePlans comment that it may be a little imposing having wall units both sides. Maybe consider a couple of shelves on the oven side which you can accessorise to add texture /colour?
