DIY feather lampshade
I first saw (and lusted after) fluffy feather lampshades on Houzz but there's no way I could justify spending hundreds of quid on one. I struggled to find a tutorial online that didn't use feather boas. I found one months ago but then couldn't find it again once I'd gathered the materials. There are a few online tutorials using feather boas and they do look good but I wanted to be able to see the sculptural element you get with longer individual feathers, as well as the fluffy cloud look. The photos are pretty self-explanatory but if you have any questions I'm happy to answer them.

Comments (11)Literally just called craft glue dots, I use them for paper crafting and you can buy removable ones or stronger more permanent ones. They're about 1cm and come on a roll so I just applied a few metres at a time and carried the roll of braid around on my shoulder to try and stop the weight pulling the already applied braid off as I went. I used the permanent ones for this but I've used the gentler ones for feather braid trim around lamp shades before....See MorePlease can someone identify this light for me?
