Door dilemma for bathroom!

I want to fit a sliding barn door on my bathroom opening, but there is a fanlight at the top that I don't want to cover up. Any way around this please? The wood between the door frame and the glass is very narrow. I want it to be a feature, so don't want a pocket door. Thanks

Not sure how your problem got missed. Unfortunately if you haven't got anything to attach the supports for the door to, then you're going to find it impossible to fit a barn door.

Also, don't forget that you needs just over the width of the door to the left or right of your support for the door to slide across to. So, you need quite a bit of room. Have you got pics? that might help.

Thank you for answering my question. There is enough room to the left, but we've now decided to have the door opening outwards. This solves the problem of the door knocking into the bath and makes access easier as the room is tiny!

I think the best thing to do is use boards that looks like mosaic tiles, it's from ABBuilding supplies, you can stick it over tiles and then the furniture. It's very cost effective.

A bathroom at the front may not be completely out of the question. We have previously installed a bathroom and en-suite back-to-back with the latter to the front of a Victorian mid-terrace. The soil pipe ran horizontally down in the middle of the house (where wears added a downstairs WC beneath the stairs), and ran beneath the suspended timber floor (with the correct fall) on the ground floor to the drains at the rear of the property. Without knowing more details it is difficult to say for certain whether it would work, but it is possibly worth exploring.

It's a bit of horrible shape, but do'able. You can just about increase the size of the shower to an offset quadrant at 1200mm x 800mm ( surprisingly room ). You just have to be aware that you need a vanity that's not too deep. I base this on some of the ones you can get from Soak.com at 600mm wide and 395mm deep. The less deep the vanity the more walk room you get across that corner. Ideally you would have a metre, but you get a good 80cm ( sufficient ). The window i made 800mm. It's the placed across that wall 950mm behind the shower and 750mm from the bath wall . I also put a little dwarf wall / shelf at the end of the bath for products whilst using the bath and then the towel radiator is above that.
