Bathroom Wall Tiles - what colour paint and floor tiles?
Comments (3)Hi there, We have an assortment of floor tiles that you could choose from! I'd recommend any colour that's darker than the wall tiles, as it should mean you won't find yourself constantly worrying about cleaning up after yourself....See MoreWhat to put with this bathroom floor tile?
Comments (8)You're welcome! This is an exciting project and I really hope you'll share the results, whatever you decide to do! I think metro tiles are the right way to go. You've already got pattern and bold colour covered so something more simple is probably right for the walls. Besides, it's a classic design. You could do it with a dark grout if you wanted to make a bolder statement. [This Houzz story[(https://www.houzz.co.uk/magazine/decorating-10-different-ways-to-use-classic-metro-tiles-stsetivw-vs~25104664) about metro tiles shows them mostly with dark grout and might help you visualise it. Marble would definitely work and look incredible. Just be careful to bear in mind the structure of the unit and how much weight it can hold. You have to consider the weight of the surface material, the sink, and the water it would have in it when full. Maybe even think about what you're going to fill the cupboards with and how heavy that could be. Perhaps it would be worth reinforcing the vanity in some way. Other than marble you could use tiles or just varnish the surface really well. All of these options will look great in different ways. Even though you're not DIY-ing it, take a look at this "how-to" to give you a better idea of the process. Comments (5)I‘m assuming it’s a suspended timber floor? You do have to take into consideration movement in timber floors but this can be greatly reduced by remedial work on the subfloor and the correct floor build-up. E.g: - Sistering/replacing damaged, bowed/sunken joists - Adding noggings to stiffen floor - Replacing floorboards with T&G plywood sheeting (minimum 18mm). Ends should fall on joists, glued and screw down. - Adding tile backer like Hardiebacker or DITRA matting, the latter of which has a decoupling membrane that is supposed to prevent subfloor movement from affecting the tiles....See MoreFitting first floor bathroom with LVT or Tiles
Comments (2)LVT would need a 6mm Flooring grade Ply to be laid first and then it can be glued down over feather edge preparation of joints and screw heads. LVT will be warmer then ceramic tiles. AVOID click LVT, it's a nightmare....See More- Emily H10 years ago
