Problems with hob under window

is there some problems of steam or condensate when you use hob under window?

No there are no problems with this installation as long as you have a good rangehood. Thanks for your inquiry

Hi - it looks like the hob is drawn right next to a tall cabinet ? This is not a good idea . My suggestion would be to remove secondary sink from Island and put the hob on the island with a flush ceiling extractor then put your sink under your window. It's close enough to the hob for filling and emptying pots that way. The space between bathroom wall and island doesn't look big enough for a proper walk through - You may be able to close that gap completely and make the island bigger - move the stool seats to two at the left end of the island and two on the back and then have additional storage at the rear of the island - thus allowing the bathroom to open into the walkway area rather than right into the kitchen. And L shape stool seating is more conducive to chatting than all in a row !

Hi @shanagarry80, thanks for your comments! I'm not at home right now so I can't be sure how big the extractor fan actually is but it is over a 90cm hob and oven, so must be at least 90cm. It doesn't look particularly large in situ and the inbuilt lights are very good for illuminating the cooking area. Have a look at Gutmann's website; as I said in one of my earlier comments, other companies do make similar extractors but our kitchen people thought this one best, however our kitchen is now 3 years old and a lot can happen in that time! Hope you have fun designing your new kitchen!

There are other options than just getting a free generic design done... we offered a design service. We don’t sell any products, have no commissions coming in from anyone, so are totally focused on getting the design right to suit you ... then you shop around with that design and compare like for like - and buy from whomever you like best ! It’s not free, no. We have several levels of service , but even the most expensive is only about the cost of a good dishwasher, for most average sized kitchens. Shopping around could save you thousands.

That's a good point about the narrower radiators. We'd probably prefer them anyway, so if i restrict my search to two column, I can go wider without completely over-provisioning the heating capacity. Some manufacturers seem to go to 1.5m wide in two-column, which is getting close to the width of the window. That's also a great point about positioning the radiators a bit higher on the wall than the 'default' height. My current radiators are 75cm, but most of the radiators I'm looking at (Acova, Milano Windsor) only come in 60cm height. Nordic Column has a 75cm option, but I haven't seen many reviews of them. But if I nudge up the wall a bit, that should make the 60cm look better suited to the height of the wall. Thanks all!
