I would like the wall over the base units 4.5m as a feature.

I was thinking about a feature such as a large wavy line splashback from one side to the other and put LED lights behind it. Part of the wavy line would be over the hob. I dont know what material to use that would be safe and not glass as I think this would be expensive. We are early stages of build and wondered if plasterboard would be ok but it might not be adequate fireproof for over the hob. I would really appreciate some ideas. Many thanks
