Comments (6)The previous blinds were actually a light brown wood which I did like, but not the colour. I have looked at the shutters from blinds2go but the 10-12 week lead time is a bit too much (and while £1000 isn’t astronomical, I’ve just completed a rebuild of my kitchen extension so trying to be frugal). I guess now, with some confirmation from you lot, I’m either thinking white wood Venetians as the long term solution or a short term white roller or Roman blind until I can afford the shutters....See MoreWhat colour for bedroom’s chimney breast?
Comments (41)I found the Dulux Visualator, or whatever it’s called, to be pretty useless. I used it once to visualise my old sitting room colour just to see how accurate it was. My walls were Dulux Elderflower so compared it on the Dulux online thingy and it was completely different!...See MoreHelp with tiny open plan with bay window
Comments (12)Wow @rinked! Thank you very very much for taking the time to shaffle the furnitures around for me. That's great!!! :) Really really appreciate it!! I do hope I won't lose the cosy feeling of the living room to be honest but I really feel I lack space to move around right now. From time to time, we also use the place to host any guests over with an airbed or use it to put laundry to dry so space is really vital to us. The sofa is actually orange, see photo below, and I don't really like the colour so I was thinking to buy a sofa cover to dress it up. I have heard designers advise to use light colours for the couch so not sure if I should pick a beige or a light pattern like the ones below. And I was also thinking of a rug as well so I guess the best thing is to first buy the sofa cover and then move to the rug to match everything. You can find the pictures of the different cupboards below: I do know and understand that this is far from ideal... But when I bought everything I was just in a hurry to do so since we didn't have ANY storage within the place. I do want to repaint them at some point but not sure this can be done within the house and we don't have a garden or so. Looking forward to your answers people!!! Your help is valuable and greatly appreciated!!! Really praise google for finding you!!! :D...See MoreHow to dress bay window in a multi-use retro room?
Comments (11)Hi @Emma Lamb. I'm super up for a reconfiguration, but don't really know what else to try. I've had various arrangements in the past and this is the best yet. In an ideal world, we wouldn't have the furniture all against the walls, but we do yoga in here so we need the space. The two chairs are meant to angle in a little more than they were when I took the picture (after the Christmas mess!), but the one closest to the kitchen really just sits awkwardly blocking access to the kitchen and occasionally hiding the fish tank :( If you have any suggestions of things to move around, I'd be really up for hearing them. I know I want to keep the table where it is as I like to sit in the window while I'm working, the sofa and speakers are also pretty stuck in place due to listening angles, but the chairs, dresser, side tables, storage unit and small table holding the fish tank can all move. I'm planning to remove the fish tank table from the mix when the cabinet arrives, but they are similar in size so I could plan around either just now. I think I will go with Roman blinds and now just debating whether to get them made up or do them myself. The middle window will need more than one width so it will be a lot of matching, but I'm going to speak to the fabric store and see how I feel. So excited to get them in situ!!...See MoreMonica
