Color/style for garage door

What color/style should we use for a new garage door? Should we match it to the front door color or just keep it white but in a carriage door style?

This door style would be a nice addition to your home. Manufacturer is CHI Overhead Door, not sure where you are located but I am sure they may refer you to your local licensed contractor for more information.

Thank you. I was looking at a style like that, but only with the arches on top.

Thank you for the suggestion. We had images with the original porch but unfortunately time and budget don't allow us to have them recreated. I'm glad you agree that a string colour is needed as my builder is keen to put on s modern oak door which I feel will get lost with the white, brick and clay tile colours. Railings is currently my favourite although I'm using it in my kitchen and have a grey bathroom too, Si wondering about deviating, maybe card room green or castle grey (which is more green than grey) - both F&B.

To approximately equate the above analysis to the colours I sent you. Multiply the Value 8.08x10 = 80.8 Lightness and the Chroma x 5 = 2.95 in our colour space using LCh. So its approx 20 points lighter than Weimaraner & considerably closer to neutral.

Ah ok, that makes complete sense. I don't think I would move the door to around the corner but I would consider removing some of the block paving where it meets the house and replacing some of it with gravel and planting. This would give you the opportunity to use some nifty planting to correct the proportions of the front door area. Some architectural planting where the walls meet the block paving would make a massive difference and also the area under the window to the right. In terms of colour for a new front door, I would focus on making it look cohesive. Anything very eye-catching will only draw attention to the asymmetrical aspect of the door as it is.

My favourite colour is red, but, with a garage door, it gets a lot of battering from our changeable weather. Strong sunlight will fade red and rain, frost and snow will degrade the colour too. The dark blue looks lovely. If you think the blue garage door is a bit much how about a blue front door and white garage door? You can't go wrong with teal blue. Look at paint colours for old houses, you might find something you like. Charcoal grey is fashionable now. I've seen a reddish purple garage and door recently and it looks pretty smart. I didn't get a photo though!
