What colour's for North facing Living Room

Hi all

We are struggling to choose a colour scheme for our North facing Living Room. Pics attached. It's not the brightest of rooms even with the lights on. Looking to keep the existing curtains and thinking of red for the feature wall behind the TV and then we're a bit stuck for the remaining three walls and ceiling. Carpet is also staying, new sofa has been ordered and this will be Maghony Brown Leather.

Any suggestions and advice would be much appreciated

The curtains are cream with a red rose pattern
