Feature Wall Colour
Comments (13)HelloLinda That mirror is amazing. I can definitely see why you bought it on impulse. I think I would have done the same. Have you thought about using a dark colour on the wall, such as Brenton Blue? Brenton Blue is a lovely deep and intense colour that will create more of an atmosphere and statement in the room and make that mirror a focal piece on the wall. As you can see in the image above, this stool really pops against the dark background. You also mentioned that your style is 'modern and simplistic with clean lines' so I thought I would show this image below for some inspiration: In this image, we have painted all of the walls white and have painted very simple lines around the artwork to make them stand out and pop within the space. This is an idea I thought that you might like to try. The use of bright colours really captures your attention and draws the eye to these pieces. An alternative way to achieve this look would be to change the colour of the mirror frame by painting it. For something a little more wow, yet still modern and simplistic, why not try a paint effect like in our image below: This paint effect and colour would really make your black lamp and grey mirror pop. Here we have used Easter Morn 4. This is a lovely shade of yellow that will add a touch of warmth to your hallway. This paint effect is really quick and easy to achieve. Check out our Dulux YouTube page for some great tutorial videos on paint effects. You can also download for free our Dulux Visualiser App which allows you to pick a colour and by using augmented reality, you can see that the colour would look like on your wall in your actual space. here is the link to download the app for free: https://www.dulux.co.uk/en/articles/the-dulux-visualizer-app Good luck with the decorating - we would love to hear about how you get on and what you decide to do. Comments (8)You can have custom curved glass balustrades, however, I imagine the cost is prohibitive. ( I don't know, but i bet they're not cheap.) Alternatively, build up the wall to a safer height. I can't see how you get down from the patio, you would imagine that the steps would be in the middle where the wood uprights and bench are in the second picture.www.longlass.co.uk...See MoreI would like the wall over the base units 4.5m as a feature.
Comments (5)I’ve seen tiles done in a wavy line as a splashback. Glass would probably be one of the best options but I’m not sure what the limit is on length all in one piece. Bushboard have just introduced their new splashback range called Vista. There are some stunning options on there. Google it. They are not wavy top edge though only straight but the choices are outstanding. They’re available in MDF finish and acrylic....See MoreShared Twin Boys Bedroom Layout, Storage and Feature wall Ideas!
Comments (12)The first option seems to work better when you add furniture in? Given they'll be starting secondary school soon'ish I don't know whether a wardrobe and chest of drawers is a better option for their uniform? You can also use the bottom of the wardrobe for shoes, sports equipment etc and I'd pick a colour that blends into the wall. I personally wouldn't do 2 feature walls however use colour blocking to zone each of their spaces. Try and find a blue and yellow that work together and add a couple more complementary shades. I've added a couple of pics but there are loads online. You could do a geometric shape or border etc. Having their duvet in their colours may be an idea too. I would probably go for beanbags for seating which can go at the side of the bed when not in use. Is their room under the bed for baskets for toys? Maybe also shelves over the bedside table?...See Morefernlady26
