Small Bathroom Design Dilemma
Comments (4)Hello Sarah, If you have to keep the toilet where it is for soil pipe/ budget reasons, you probably already have the best layout with bath under window. Would you consider keeping the bathtub which does look lovely. Change your shower system to a boiler linked one and move your shower head to the ceiling (a waterfall shower). Re shower curtain, have a long flowing linen shower curtain made backed by thick plastic on the inside to protect from water, but looks beautiful on the outside. The pics you posted are elegant and easy to achieve...wood effect floor tiles, metro tiles on wall, some built in storage and nice towels. Maybe some colour through orchids? They thrive in bathrooms. Hope of some use!...See MoreBathroom floor tile dilemma

Comments (3)Hi Denisa, I'm an architect and run a practice in London. I don't think you should rearrange the sanitary ware or fill in the window. Here's why: - The current configuration can work and will save time and money by keeping the plumbing in the same locations. - Getting rid of a window will reduce the amount of light and I think you have other options for storage. As well as your other suggestions, I attach a sketch of what I think you should do: - Move boiler to other location. - Knock down all partitions and remove doors. Retain part of the partition between the stair and current boiler / proposed shower. - Behind the door to the bathroom you could have a large cupboard [marked 'store' on the sketch]. Doing this will create a much larger bathroom without costly reconfiguration of plumbing. If a shower is a tight squeeze, you can get smaller baths... Hope that helps.
