Comments (3)Take out the overgrown weed area and lay a faux grass area there instead - The Range do a good priced roll of faux grass or get real grass and keep it neat. Add some pots with coloured plants and use Cuprinol to paint the fence in one ( or two ) of their nice colours ( there's loads to choose from !) Paint the uprights white - string some outdoor soft white lighting under the verandah and add a bistro set or wicker type sofa area if your budget allows ! Enjoy this lovely weather and relax !...See MoreTomato plants and growing tomatoes
Comments (4)We grow tomatoes on our sunny patio every year in grow bags and it is always very successful. We start them off indoors (spare bedroom windowsill - south-facing) and then harden them off in a very small grow house. I don’t think it saves us any money, but the flavour is great and it gives the retired OH something to do. We usually have so many that as well as giving them to family and neighbours I can bottle them for use later. Our only problem this year might be getting the grow bags, but our local garden centre has said they will be doing local deliveries, so fingers crossed....See MoreStraggly French bean plants (indoors) help please!
Comments (7)Hi, so yours are only babies. The pictures I shared are not my fathers garden as he has passed away. I just remember them climbing up the poles like Jack and the Beanstalk! He then left the beans to dry out a bit before shelling them. Mum would freeze the beans for future use. Those beans were the best ever! I don’t know about growing them indoors, but you could transplant them into a big pot with canes tied at the top. I suppose putting near the window and keeping them well weathered will help. If they bend towards the light you can turn the pot around each day maybe? If they are the bush variety then you won’t need the canes. Hope it works out. 😊...See MoreNeed advice for clothes drying outdoors
Comments (9)I don’t think fixing an airier in a lot will be sufficiently stable, plus you’d have the weight of it to move around. Whilst you may not be permitted to make certain fixings, it’s possible that you might be granted consent for a washing line if you asked. It’s not an unreasonable thing to have in a garden and you can’t beat the smell and feel of line dried laundry. 😀 But otherwise, as hedgehog99 suggests, you could simply use an indoor airer outdoors, suitably secured....See MoreOnePlan
