Hello. Those doors are beautiful and do not need glass that will block your view and compete for attention. My suggestion is to have clear glass. If you can find old style antiqued glass, or handmade glass that would be my vote. Otherwise just use plain glass. The key is the view through the doors (both ways). The doors will function as a frame so arrange furniture accordingly. I suggest new long curtains that hang closer to the ceiling. A beautiful neutral linen, or something that excites you. If you hang a vibrant or patterned curtain then your black sofa (is it a chair?) will not dominate the view through the doors. If you elect for a neutral curtain, then you may want to relocate the black sofa in favour of a more neutral piece. Beautiful home, what we can see of it. Good luck!

Living room with lots of doors and big empty space - help!

Hi lovely space and I love the way natural light floods in. I have a couple of suggestions: 1. Two rugs not one to add warmth and colour you could then have a smaller matching rug at the end of the room that you quite rightly call an empty space. 2. Consider using a bracket to move the television onto the wall. Your plan showing the TV on the right looks good but if you used that plan then the TV would look best above the fireplace...that may be too high for comfortable viewing though. 3. A floor lamp where the plant is would give light and extra interest to that far corner especially if the plant is large enough to be placed in front or slightly to one side of the lamp. 4. At least one other lamp table and lamp beside the sofa 5. The empty area....obviously tight for space when the French doors open into the lounge but you may be able to fit either a narrow console or a larger piece of art with a narrow shelf beneath to fill that wall. Coupled with the rug you will be surprised how that will be enough to allow freedom of movement through that space and yet make the room feel whole instead of in two parts. I like your mix of furniture style which makes it easier for you to consider using sites like Freecycle or Craig's list to acquire a few extra pieces without breaking the bank. And if hubby is good aT DIY a narrow shelf will be a doddle you could also check out Houzz for ideas how to make a large piece of art to go above it too

Agreed - As much light as possible is always the way to go, especially with views like those. Silly questions as I can not see how large the hall is or what else will be in the dining room but... do you need doors at all? We, and many other interior design companies offer procurement services which are actually a fairly good way of finding items like this as you could also be passed on trade discounts. Fly screens for big sliding doors

Hi. I have been looking into this as well and the only company that I have found that offers integrated insect screens on sliding and bifold doors is Centor. It looks as though their sliding doors can cover a 4657mm opening and so they could cover your width but I think they only do 2 panels and 1 will be fixed. You may need a combination shade and screen to cover the entire width. Not sure exactly how it would work but the doors look lovely. I am trying to manipulate my budget so that I can incorporate them in my new build!
