Help me choose kitchen worktops and possible splashback/tiles
Comments (13)Hi, I've now had quartz worktops fitted in a white with grey and mirror flecks (compact lactea) & attach photos. Cabinets are all done too. My next area is what to do for splashback behind the hob/under the extractor. I originally wanted to do red glass across the length of the wall, but we have had under unit lights fitted below the higher cabinets and at night I can change these to any colour I want. If I do red all across I won't get the effect of the lights. Not even sure red would go? The wooden chairs are going and will be replaced & I still need to choose my island lights (thinking 3 pendants hanging). Husband thinks stainless steel sheet behind hob. I'm not sure this will look right with dark glass hob under it & wonder if it is hard to look clean all the time. What ideas do you all have as you helped with the worktops. I also show the dining table and the new open lounge area (intend to put a rug down). We also still need to find wall lights....See MoreSplashback ideas for kitchen
Comments (20)Hi, if you want to inject some colour into your kitchen via the splashback you might like to think about an LED illuminated splashback. You can set it on one particular colour or set it to scroll through colours. You can also have a splashback with white colour temperature controllable LEDs in it if you prefer - this means you can switch it from warm white, to cool white to daylight depending on the effect you wish to create at any particular time of the day/evening/season. Do have a look at http://www.litetile.co.uk/portfolio/ to see the effect that can be created in a kitchen....See MoreI have gone with white Matt kitchen units, gray work tops, gray tiles
Comments (6)Hi Tracey,I have to agree with Carolina, marble effect backsplash and mustard for accessories or bar stools! We have a wide backsplash selection in our showroom, including Dekton, Silestone, Cosentino (and more). If you'd like, come and check out the samples before you make your decision. We are based in SW London. Good luck!...See MoreNew kitchen - splashback and shelving decision
Comments (13)Thank you so much everyone for all the comments and ideas! I am definitely swaying towards tiles now or the opaque glass in same colour as wall. Very helpful to see other ideas too with some different style Splashbacks etc. Thanks for taking time to show a design on my photo that’s really helpful. I see what you mean about the shelves needing to be quite small on right hand side of hob. I was thinking of 1 or 2 small ones on that side and longer ones on other side. But yes other option is to have something more decorative on right hand side... but we already have a big brass/black antique style clock for the opposite wall which is a dark grey (see extra pic- but clock not up yet!). I will definitely post an update once we decide and get it done Thanks again Laura...See MoreMatt P
