On the face of it you could carry out most, if not all, of what you have listed without any Party Wall Agreements. You would only need to notify the neighbours on the side of the chimney brick work if you do decide to remove this chimney. The building process for the removal would be straight forward and the relocation of units, again straight forward. Hello laine_bedford, Congratulations on moving into your new home! Definitely an exciting time for you and your family, and understandably a difficult task to start your re-decoration process. Here are some pointers: STEP 1: Get Inspired! - Create your own ideabook: - On the Houzz search bar, lookup 'Bedroom' and 'Hotel Room' and filter by your preferred design style; contemporary perhaps? - Please visit our page and check out our ideabook titled 'Creative Headboards'. STEP 2: Select Your Color Scheme! - Base Colour: Most 5 Star Resorts stick to neutral/earth tone colours, choosing to add splashes of colour through use of accessories (bed cushions, artwork, bed throw etc). However, main furniture (bed, bedside tables, table lamps, wardrobes and so forth) remain neutral and either all the same colour or similar. Same applies to the walls; neutral/earth tones. - Accent Colour: As recommended above, have fun choosing a colour(s) that you've been inspired by for your bedroom accessories. This can also apply to your feature wall (where the bed headboard would go). STEP 3: Set You Budget! - Once you know how much you're willing to spend, only then can you make interior decoration decisions (type of headboard/extent of headboard, type of wardrobes, customised built-in-seating in the bay windows, curtains vs. blinds, carpet or wood flooring with rug(s) etc). STEP 4: Source Your FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Fittings) - Make a list of all the things you would need to purchase, prioritising the main pieces (bed, wardrobes etc) and, dependent on your budget, the stores you would need to visit. - Don't forget the bed linen; if you really want the contemporary 'hotel' look, stick to whites. Garden design ideas & inspiration - 1 planter or 3? Pleached trees?

Looks like a real suntrap, so how about a Mediterranean garden with some fruit trees? Espalier are great as they don’t take up too much room, but my favourite fruit tree for a sunny spot is a Fig tree. They grow very well in the U.K. (my parents had 2 in Herts) and there was loads of fruit. They do grow quite wide but they don’t mind being pruned, although a great bit of shade on a hot day. Other shrubs that will like those conditions are Hibiscus, Cistus, Ceanothus, Choisya, Roses and the climber Star Jasmine. Plants that love the sun and are good for the front of border are Lavender, Nepeta (catmint, loved by cats!), Clematis, Crocosmia, Agapanthus. Herbs love the sun so things like thyme, sage, chives and rosemary. There are lots more but those are ones I’ve successfully grown and I don’t want to bore you with a long list! Most shrubs prefer growing in the ground. They will be easier to care for and won’t need as much watering than if they are in a pot, but some of the smaller shrubs won’t mind a pot. I have a few shrubs in pots. If you do decide to put some in the ground, add lots of compost or top soil to your soil. Some of the shrubs you mention don’t do well in the sun and may shrivel, so unless you have a shady spot I wouldn’t include them - Hydrangeas and Japanese Acers. I’ve never had much success with Olive trees as they don’t always cope with our winters, but I know some people do. I’m not good with design but I did create a small garden on my sunny plot. The big blue shrub is a Ceanothus, evergreen.
