are the doors pocket doors?

I love the look, was wondering if the doors go all the way into the wall or if they stay partly outside the 'pocket'.

Yes they project just forward of the flush line as I recall. I bee I’ve we added flush pulls on the face so these remain clear so you can easily open and close the doors. Thanks for the compliment!

Hello, not sure if you have considered this or if it would work in your case but I was told by building regs that if you don't have fire doors for each habitable room you can have interlinked smoke alarms in each habitable room in addition to having them in the hallways. To get the electrician to put these in, it was half the price of having to change every door in the house to a fire door ( basic door with four panel design ). Obviously some people want to have expensive doors e.g. solid wood so these will add to the cost. If you live in a period proprerty you might not want to have smoke alarms drilled into the lovely decorative ceiling so perhaps you could have a mixture of smoke alarms upstairs and fire doors downstairs or just have them installed in a discreet place. Our electrician said they have to be minimum 30cm from the door opening.

@ Pookes - this is a common situation where the external corners are often forgotten. Have you gone back to your tiling supplier to see if the tiles that you bought have a ceramic/porcelain corner section available? if so, and depending on the dimensions, you may be able to give yourself the minimalist look that you are looking for. Unfortunately your first photograph, showing the aluminium trim, is typical of the covering up of a design detail that has been forgotten. This maybe your only option although there are colour alternatives available that might make it easier to live with.

Tall larder and corner unit with pocket doors

From the picture, it looks like to me that larder was made up from a few standard components ...eg the 3 sets of drawers are probably 40cm wide, shallow depth base units, (such as Ikea’s 37cm deep Metod unit), plus a sink unit, and the top is made up of 3 similarly standard wall units without doors. The outer full size cabinet doors look like just standard tall cabinet doors set on sliding door pivot hinges. It’s just the way they have put them together that is “bespoke”, and that’s down to the designer and fitter. Hopefully that helps.
