Selling an Amdega Conservatory

We are about to remove our Amdega conservatory and replace it with an orangery.

It feels abhorrent and wasteful to destroy the conservatory.

Can it be listed anywhere for a successful rehoming? EBay does not appear to be the correct place - few completed listings.

Hi sarahegarrick, There are some companies in our industry that can supply you with a glass roof for a lean to at 4m projection. It's likely that you will have something called a "Muntin Bar" running across the width of the roof. This will separate the glass roof glass into two pieces. The muntin bars are sometime prone to leaking. There is a company called "Tuffex" who sell glass upto 4m without the need for a muntin bar. Hope this helps :)

Thanks for the comments. The suggestion by Bebe Price is probably closest to what we are looking to do. I really like the idea and look of the reclaimed bricks. Did they keep the foundation and just lay the bricks? Do you know if there are any drainage / standing water issues with water on the patio bit? jonathandb1972 - the reason we were hoping to keep the foundation rather then starting from scratch was in the hope of saving money - do you think this could result in a false economy? Apologies for the novice questions / observations - I don't have any experience in this area and was looking for suggestions / ideas to see if it is a practical option.

It's an awkward one with all the windows and doors, but something like this would work:- Eventually, i'd knock out all the doors and windows facing the garden and turn it in to a proper room, keeping the glass roof, but ensuring the outside walls were insulated enough to then remove the internal doors and windows, opening up with a half wall by the kitchen to a lovely open plan room:-

Grey! This will make your home look more contemporary. I agree with David you could look at a more robust roof such as an orangery so you still get the light but a more sturdy structure. You can get some very trendy design which don't need to cost the earth, It will be easier to keep clean too. Our glass conservatory was a little tricky to clean. You may wish to think of snow guards to the guttering too. We had a house years back with a lovely conservatory but no snow guard. Not sure of your geographical placement but could be worth considering. The other thing to consider is if you will have the same colour on the inside - SORRY if you haven't thought that far ahead yet. Most window companies off RAL colours and the charts are easy to get hold of or borrow. Good luck. you must let us know what you decide.

I’ve used Gumtree many times to sell items, albeit on a smaller scale. It’s free and very easy to use. It’s a bit like the old Classified Ads in a newspaper but online. There is also Facebook Marketplace if you are on it.
