Help needed with seating in small living room

Hi, I'm looking for some advice on seating in my awkward living room. I currently have a corner sofa from my previous home that doesn't work well in my new living room. I'm keen to maximise seating as we are a family of four and sometimes have guests. I've attached a plan image of the room. The tv on the left cannot be moved. I also would like to keep the two small tables and sideboard that are on the plan. But the seating shown are just my ideas that I've been playing around with. To note, the colours in the room are neutral, more on the warm side with taupe walls, and we are keen to add some rich velour green or blue shades to add a pop of colour. Thank you so much.

What about adding a big footstool in front of the sofa then you could also use this as an additional seat. As I see it the problem with corner sofas is if they are square as yours shows in your plan then you can’t sit in the corner position and put your legs to the floor. If you have a corner sofa with a more round into the corner this provides the seats.

A footstool could possibly work if I could move it to the side... I have two small children that like to play on the floor so wouldn't want to take their space permanently. But perhaps it could go in the window. Thank you :) I like to have a lovely living room but the kids stop most of my plans haha.

Hey everyone! Good to hear from you all again. We have 2 wks before we go back to school. It's been a busy summer but good. My boy (14) is in marching band and they've been practicing all summer for the fall football games. He is worn out. My girl has been playing with friends and is doing a bit of a room redo herself (she is 10). Nice to see you all are well. We took a weekend a bit ago to Chincoteague VA and it was great! I always suggest to start with is a trip to the paint shop get some paint cards they are free. take them home you can see the colours in your room. Grey is very popular at the moment and a nice light grey can be very elegant. With out images it is quite difficult. For example though dulux trade 50BG72/006 is a soft grey. get a sample, paint 2 coats it onto a piece of paper and hold it against the walls. see if you like it. You then need to introduce an accent colour to lift the room and make it interesting. what colour flooring do you have? as this is important too.

Personally, I think corner sofas really restrict positioning and getting 2 gives you a lot more flexibility. Re the radiators, I would try and avoid putting any behind the sofa on the right hand side as the sofa will soak up lots of the heat. Instead I would suggest going for a vertical model instead and putting it to the side of the French doors. Give me a call on 01274 515734 if you need some advice regarding heat outputs, etc.

Thank you for your response. We had plans pretty finalised until we found out that we can keep just that long wall into the large space as it is a load-bearing. There is an opportunity to put a door in though. I am attaching what it looked like with all the walls that we can now remove. We have also been tinkering with ideas which I am adding as well. I added some comments on the plans as well. What we want to have is a dining area with a large table that seats 8-10 people. We want enough space for two people to work and cook in the kitchen. Thus, we were thinking of an island or an L-shape workspace coming out. We'd like to have a utility room to have space for all the cleaning utensils. Washer and Dryer will be upstairs in a separate laundry room. The living room is nothing formal but an area to relax and watch TV. We'd like to have an L-shaped cough in there for a family of four (2 kids under the age of 10).
