What colour to paint this bedroom? Help!
Comments (12)People often suggest that blue is cold, but we have a blue on the greenish side - we had it mixed and I don't have the number any longer. Visually the nearest colour I could find online was Dulux Blue Reflection. http://www.designerpaint.com/products/dulux-paintpod/blue-reflection/80377 In this traditional room we use it with slightly shaded white woodwork and ceiling, a rather "bedroomy" persian rug that is basically cream with deeper blues, some ochre and a little peach, but we've previously used it with the paler citrussy green often called lemongrass as an accent colour for a more contemporary look, with pure white woodwork. It really is the true blue of the sky and feels like daylight, even on the darkest days - I think you might find that it works well in a darker bedroom. I've just taken a couple of photos on my camera to show the colour in daylight and artificial light - apologies for the quality, they may come out the wrong way round!...See MoreShare your design dilemma and win Dulux paint!
Comments (629)Hi Andrea Brooks We can totally understand your dilemma - ‘Magnolia’ is certainly not for everyone! Different colours can evoke different moods and feelings, so don’t limit yourself to one colour throughout your whole house. Dark moody tones work brilliantly in bedrooms, and have been proven to help induce better sleep. Our favourite at the moment is Dulux’s Denim Drift. Bright, fresh colours are great for kitchens, and for creating a lively happy atmosphere. I love Dulux Coral Canyon which is really uplifting. Finally, dusted blues and greens have amazing calming qualities, and are fantastic for any rooms you want to relax and unwind in. Dulux Dusted Moss is a beautiful, versatile colour that will suit most styles of property, either traditional or modern. If you are cautious about using colour, why not introduce it slowly through your accessories, or as a feature wall, as these can be easily updated and replaced. Good luck and we would love to see the results. Hannah Dulux Amazing Space www.designer.duluxamazingspace.co.uk...See MoreTerrace house hallway. Using Dulux Absolute White plus Atoll colour?
Comments (65)I have these in a couple of the bedrooms to hang bathrobes and such on. They come in black or in white (which I would do on the White door). I love them and think you could probably do two on the door at slightly different heights. Removing the handle and painting the door white, gloss or semi-gloss, whatever you prefer and use in the rest of the home on the woodwork is a good idea. http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/small-storage-organisers/hooks-hangers/tjusig-hanger-black-art-80291707/...See MoreDulux Grey Steel 4 or Dulux White Ash
Comments (2)The best way to check is to buy/order match pots and paint them onto A4 card. You can attach them to the different walls with blue tack. That way you can gauge how cool the colours are. Colours are affected by light so I think match pots are the way to go. I’ve got Egyptian Cotton in my bedroom and it has a slight pink hue, I’ve never seen green in it....See MoreSonia
