Redecorating bedroom with fitted wardrobes - help!
Comments (10)We're all for a bit of hard work, and would definitely paint the cupboards. You are right not to use F&B, it's an inferior paint compared to dulux, and not correct for your purposes, being Eggshell finish. Dulux Trade Satinwood is far better, gives a better finish and is hardwearing. ( It's also more expensive than F&B i'm afraid, but you get what you pay for ). I'd paint the cupboards in a pale grey and replace the knobs. Give the area behind the bed a good dark grey finish, to help with making your choice of headboard really stand out. Comments (24)Just as an alternative you could look at a French style door. It will still give up that grown up feel. I would definitely opt for painted rather than wood, something that doesn't contrast with the wall too much so they're not imposing but still remain a feature. I can't see the furniture properly but it looks as if it would go. Btw my brother recently had wood wardrobes installed probably about 10ft long and they were 5k. He used the company who manufactured and installed his kitchen in the end but the quotes were all around that mark or higher (ouch!). Layer the bed with cushions and throws and at least you'll get that feeling of calm and tranquility!...See MoreBedroom wardrobe / ensuite dilemma
Comments (9)Hi. I prefer the first option plumbing permitting. Hard to tell from looking at the pics but can the bed go opposite the chimney breast with the ensuite door in the bottom corner? It looks as if you could possibly have narrow bedside tables. Alternatively float the bed in the bay which I think looks particularly good with a 4 poster. If in budget I might also reinstate the fire.....See Morewardrobe- fitted with sliding doors wardrobe fitted w door vs no door?
Comments (7)We would advise it is completely dependant on the space and your requirements. Walk-in wardrobes look great if they are kept tidy, however a plus for having doors is that it can conceal any mess and give more protection for clothing. Another trend for walk-in wardrobes is to have smoked glass doors mixed with open elements this could also work with matt lacquered doors. Alternatively you could choose to have open elements for items such as bags, shoes or coats (things you know that are easy to keep tidy) then hinged doors for other modules....See MoreHU-133432064
