External trellis wall?

This is perfect, totally blends into its surroundings. Was there an external trellis attached to the wall or at a slight distance to the wall? How long did it take to cover the building like this?

Thinking of adding Boston ivy to cover my shed, but not sure if it's going to ruin the walls.

I would not render or put any cladding up just spruce up what is there. I would paint the stone coins and window ledges so that they look pristine then unify the window frames by painting all the same colour. I would paint the lower ones white as I think white looks smarter against red brick. I would paint the wood door- again a lighter colour looks smart against red brick although this can soon look dirty in an urban area- perhaps a taupe/ grey would be forgiving. Lastly I would put expensive looking chrome door furniture on the entrance with a modern sign at eye level.
