colors of the cushions and chair legs

what color is the wood on the table legs and chairs and also what color are the cushions on the chairs, very hard to tell from the pictures.

First of all, you aren't clueless :) I would follow your gut and turn the couch to face the fireplace, put the TV on the oak box near the window, the armchair and side table over near the built in dresser, and the red cabinet between the two windows where the armchair was. I like both your pieces of art on the other side of the room. If the red cabinet is between the two windows, you might want to switch the vertical piece with the one that is on the wall above the dining table - just see how it looks. Actually, I think the bird painting could look really good above the fireplace - it will add visual height (as jonathan suggested) and brings some red to that side of the room and it has bits of black and charcoal to tie in the fireplace and the couch...... If you have the TV to the left of the fireplace, I'd move the map (I like it for personal reasons :). Anyway, you really want a mirror up there.... it's a bit tricky because the fireplace is off set. Something this shape would be fab because most other items in there are really angular, but this one is too big and the price is crazy: Otherwise maybe a couple of small mirrors that you can also off set and put in a group, which would also add height: I'd do three or five of different sizes and shapes. I actually like the rug size and colour - it ties in with the blinds and the taupe in two pieces of your art and has good texture. Add a few more cushions to the couch and armchair in a couple of different fabrics. Maybe some of these:

Hello Frango1, The wingback from IKEA is a nice one actually and gr8 for its price .. I have other favourites but not for this price range.. I like the grey and this colour is my preferred within the range.. It can look very stylish teamed with fabulous cushion or two and so I would say yes to this.. With regards to the sofa, have you looked at Loaf? They do some very nice options and think you could benefit from having a look before you decide sofa wise.. With a sofa, it's a good idea to find the best you can afford, simply because it's a bigger piece. Also consider some lovely throws for arms of sofa. It would be rather nice to perhaps find a colour for the sofa that is a shade darker than the wingback.. Then compliment the armchair with the throw and fabulous cushions.. A couple at one end for the sofa is how I arrange them.. :))

Hello kconboy1982, I can just see a vase of blue hydrangea's and so the soft textural element of this which contrasts the stark and clean lines visible elsewhere, meant I wanted to give a softer element to the chair. Given you use it as a dressing table, what about something like this sheepskin chair.. : )) You could have a relaxing one too in the room as complimentary seating. In this way you incorporate a softer aspect which would benefit the room beautifully.. If you need to use the existing furniture then add a sheepskin cushion to it or add a sheepskin rug to a chair or sofa, or the Eames chair... Always By-product and never fur. I would never specify fur. For the table you might want to add a mirrored piece to give it a luxurious feel, some discs to sit it on to stop it moving... Some ideas to customise and "Pimp" your furniture.. : ))
