Hi Gina I'm currently working on a small bathroom and I know they can be tricky! You certainly don't need to fully tile both walls as it currently is unless you're particularly concerned about condensation and moisture. You could tile halfway on the wall with the loo and basin or even just a splashback behind the basin but it depends on the style of the room, the tiles your using, paint colours etc. If you find the area to be tiled is making it quite expensive, there are plenty of budget options that don't look 'cheap' if you use them in the right way. Did you go to multiple showrooms and outlets to look get a scope of the market or maybe look online? I copied a hotel bathroom I had liked as well as a picture from Houzz 2. Did you measure the bathroom yourself? No. If no, would you be confident in measuring your bathroom yourself? No 3. Had you heard of any bathroom manufacturers or companies before you started research to do your own bathroom? No 4. Did you need a lot of help on the layout and design and bathroom? The builders planned it 5. If you were guaranteed by hundreds of customers that the quality was excellent + the manufacturers own guarantee would you still want to touch, feel and see the product before buying it - if you were supplied images like the images at the bottom?? What do you love about your bathroom? The big bath, the power shower, the space 8. @Nicola M (Nicola) well we went to a new local tile shop the other day and she persuaded me to stick with the giant tiles, but still tiling them as brickwork effect. I saw an amazing concrete one that was a nice colour, wasn't patchy but was out of our budget (£40sqm)!! eek. My OH just said to order them as he knows how stressed I have been trying to find something I like, LOL. There were some other lovely ones but in the wrong shape ie 600's which I don't like on the wall personally. I haven't ordered them yet but they are typically special order so I my tiler is coming to measure today so I can be sure to have enough. Hence my questions about where to tile to as we are trying to save money, haha. I was going to do the floor as well so it all runs through but I think it will need some pattern/oomph in the room with all grey tiles. These are the ones in the Gris colour. So, spoke to the bathroom company this morning and they are reluctant to go down the mitered route to say the least. Having done some Googling, what is being proposed is more akin to this: Their argument is that the renders do not incorporate every design detail, with my counter that in a fully tiled bathrom with many square edges the difference between the render and reality is quite significant. It is true that we did not explicitly request mitered tiles at the outset, however equally no trim was ever discussed either. We’ve gone off the images presented to us. I’m not sure what the solution is at this juncture. Is the bathroom company’s stance that it’s tough s**t a fair one?
